It was very peaceful. She made no fuss at all over her sedative injection. After five/ten minutes, the vet checked her to make sure she was sleepy enough for her final injection, and he said he thinks she'd gone already :'( She must of been so weak, and she hardly let on at all :(. I'm so glad i made this decision now. I can't believe i miss her so much already!! i knew i would feel bad but i just can't stop going to check on her...and she isn't there :( It was only a few weeks ago, she was ok and playing in her run in the sunshine. Yesterday the sun came out brightly for five minutes between the rain, so i took her to sit on my lap. She seemed so content and serene.
We bought her a lovely tin and i've embroidered her name in hay on the towel she's wrapped in. Everyone in the family has written a note for her, and i wrote her a poem. I'd usually be way too shy to show anyone anything i wrote, but i feel i can share it with people who know how i feel.

I won't need to go to your feed bowl in the morning... or tend to your pain last thing at night
There won't be any more little hairs in the bathroom sink, getting my parents and i into a fight
I won't need to make the hour trip on the bus, because you've ran out of hay
because sadly my angel, you have seen better days
I can't describe how i'll miss you, it feels like you've just always been there.

Through 7 years of ups and downs, both my life and yours,
Remember when you had that op? We were both so down, i wanted to end it all.
I hope you'll understand all we've put you through, that we were trying to make you better.
You've battled on so long, it's only fair that if you want to go now, that we should let you
Everything else around me, has just waned away, who cares what i should do tomorrow,
or even if i get out of bed today
Just yesterday, when i went to get you some grass, i found a 4 leaf clover.
I think it was a present from Caramel, to say she's waiting and looking over
I'm sure she can't wait to show you all the great things to do at the bridge,
Just please don't forget me clo, i'll think about you everyday (if i can find the courage)
