Paddy - Reunited with Murphy!

Dear little Paddy came into my life on Fundraising Day last year. Kate (Starshine) had taken them in as they had been unwanted, mainly due to Murphy having an eye defect! What the hells wrong with some people!!! >:( She had been trying to find them a forever home and as soon as I saw them I fell in love with them! :smitten: :smitten:

They were timid little things but in no time at all they turned into cheeky little boys! They were inseparable and were always side by side in the cage. Sadly earlier this year Murphy left us for Rainbow Bridge and Paddy seemed so lost without him. :'( However Goggles became his new cage mate and they lived happily alongside one another although they never had the same bond that Paddy had had with Murphy.

Last night as I went up to bed I did my usual check in the piggy room and found Paddy gasping for breath as I sat and held him he took his last breath! :'( :'( :'(

He had been fine when I had last checked on them mid afternoon and had been standing at the bars wheeking for food. I just feel in total shock!

We are all going to miss you so much Paddy! :'( Goggles looks lost without you! :'(

I'm so sorry to hear about Paddy, I hope he is having fun with Murphy now. Must be such a shock for you seeing as he appeared ok earlier on. :(

I'm going to try and put Goggles with Snap, who lost his dear friend Ginger a few weeks ago! I really hope they can become good mates! :smitten: I hate to see them looking sad and lonely! :'(

Aww good luck with it. I only have to take Sunshine out from the cage and Twinkle is wheeking after him, it's good how they all form bonds but its hard when one of them has to leave.

Keep us posted on how the bonding goes on.

That's so very true! It was a tremondous shock and I still can't really believe it happened, but if it was time for him to leave this life then to go so quickly has to be the best way to go! It was as though he was waiting for me and as soon as he was in my arms he went! :'(

I remember both Paddy and Murphy very well from the party at Kate's. They were very very beautiful and I thought you were so lucky to be having them.

Both Paddy and Murphy were very special boys and i'll never forget them! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

I introduced Snap and Goggles this evening! After a bit of rumbling and trying to mount one another, they are now best mates! :) Snap has been so quiet since Ginger died and as I came in from college a few minutes ago I could hear him chattering away! As soon as they saw me they both dashed over to the bars and stood up side by side as if to say 'hey look at my new friend mum'. :smitten:

Yes I like to think of them being reunited with their family and friends, I'm sure Murphy would have been waiting for Paddy They loved each other so much :smitten:

Hannah gave Goggles his name. His markings make him look as though he is wearing goggles!!! :D Goggles and Snap are still getting on really well. Its so lovely to hear Snap chattering away again. He had been silent since losing Ginger :'( I don't think Goggles realised Snap was a guinea pig like him when I first introduced them. Snap is just one huge ball of fluff and you can't tell which end is which!! Goggles looked absolutely terrified to start with and ran away from him - I think he thought a great hairy monster was trying to get him!!! ;D

This morning they have been pottering around the cage together and its s though they have always been friends! :smitten:

Aww, that's so sad about being silent, it's heartbreaking isn't it. When we lost Scampy his Dad Blaze kept looking slightly bewildered and peering out the cage looking for him and occasionally wheeking for him, poor little guy.

There are some pics of Goggles on this thread taken just after he was born. I'm sure you will work out which one he is! LOL
