Toffee died today. She'd been a bit off colour the last couple of days but was still moving around and eating. I made an appt for this afternoon to see the vet. I got the feeling she was probably nearing her end. I got in from work at lunch time and she had died, it had only just happened as she was still warm. I wish I'd got in sooner but on the other hand it's more natural that she died amongst her friends.
Toffee is the middle brown guinea in my avatar. She was a really brave guinea, I got her in January 05 (friend's daughter was no longer giving them (2) the attention and asked me to have them, makes me mad how quickly the novelty wears off once they're past the sweet baby guinea stage). Later that year Toffee needed some lumps removing and she had the operation and had a scar which was pretty much from top to bottom, but she got over it so well.
I'm very sad obviously but she had a lovely life and try to remember that. I think she was probably between 4 and 5.
