Pet Killing Flea Killers

Here are a few sites I tracked down today after a friend mentioned she
had one of these products for her pet. I remembered the articles in the vets
office and warned her but I realized alot of people don't know yet so I thought I'd send this message. Please, even if you don't have a dog or cat and will never use this products, check these out because you know someone who does or could.
This is an important
issue and every pet owner needs to be aware of it so pets will stop
suffering and dying at innocent uninformed owners' hands because of
deadly "safe" flea products. No pet deserves to suffer through this
and no loving owner deserves the guilt that undoubtly results (even
though it wasn't their fault). Please pass this information on to others who may need it. You may just save their pet's life.

Note: This is not an all inclusive list. These are just the 2 product names I know and could look for. There are many others. Some of these sites will mention them I'm sure but I couldn't read through ALL the horror stories. There are just too many. Please be aware that pretty much all cheap spot on flea/tick killers belong on this list.

Thanks for this information, it makes shocking reading but as these products are readily available its important we all know! Might just overt tragedy for someone here

after reading the first story about the poor dalmations fits I thought i might add some thing, as you know I lost my darling dog charlie last month, but when ever he had his normal booster injections within 2 days he too would have a fit, we never ever saw him have one any other time, when I finally clicked we stopped his yearly injections so did his litter mate Max, he never had any more after that, but i do wonder now as Charlies death was caused by strokes if the fits caused a brain weakness,
also years ago mums dog lassie had a flea collar which flared up her poor little neck and she had a bad reaction, so although max has one now and its checked religously I do worry, he is as you know being spoilt as I'm so worried about him developing Charlies problems but reading this has made me realise Charlies strokes were most likely caused by the fits caused by the injections,

Poor thing. That is very likely. Was it his rabies shots that you are talking about? I've never heard of them doing that but it wouldn't be surprising if they do, especially if Charlie was allergic. After all, I think it's an immunization so I think they use dead or weakened members of the virus for the shots. I'm not sure though. I do know rabies does attack their brains though. Actually, if I remember correctly, distemper does too. Poor Charlie. Hopefully Max will be fine. I personally won't use flea collars. In my experience they don't work anyway and I don't like the idea of a poisoned ring around my dogs neck and they smell funny too.

A sprinkling of dried garlic on our dogs' food seems to do the trick for us then a check when they've been through areas where sheep and deer are for ticks. Have to use the flea comb after they've been to my Mum's cus she has cats but that's it.

we dont routinley have the rabies jab here but one of them was for distemper, think the rabies is only used if you are taking them out of the country,
will be totally stuck when we get any more puppies what do I do about jabs, deep down I do think one of the medications in the jabs was responsible, but as soon as i clicked he did'nt have any more niether did Max,

Since you are overseas, I don't know what shots they use so I won't be much help. But I was thinking you might be able to do a search for the shots he was given and see if you can find any websites about negative side effects pets have had to each one. You may figure out exactly which shot caused it that way, or at least which was most likely. I know how dangerous it is to miss those shots. I had a puppy nearly die from parvo because one of his shots was a week late because our vet was out of town. But it's not good to get them if they aren't safe either. If I were you I'd start doing some research if you planned to add a puppy and see if you can find out what's going on. He may have had an allergy to it, which means it may not cause trouble for your other future dogs, but it could be something about that brand that wasn't safe. I don't know, it just sounds like it's worth looking into.
