Hi Karen, yes the stallion was a highland pony too, he was black so I dont' know where the ginger little madam came from, lol!

Hi Nik,

Here in Ireland the Connemara ponies which are bred out of Grey mares and one of our local stallions is black.
the foals are born Chestnut but change colour usually by 6 months most go a Rose Grey colour and end up grey like mum, not sure about Highlands

but my Irish draught I owned 10 years ago was registered Chestnut and I had to get his papers changed at 2 as he turned out Dappled Grey , his Dam was chestnut and the stallion a iron Grey

she is Gorgeous anyway
