Does anybody here feed their dog, or cat for that matter, a raw food diet?

:) No but if I had a dog or cat this is the diet I would choose. When I worked with dogs they had this type of diet. It makes absolute sense to me to feed them this way and would solve/prevent a lot of problems. I know breeders that are following this diet and wish rescues would follow suit really. The problem is vets seem to recommend different diets because they are suppliers of that food yet its not necessarily good for the animal. Not the vets fault I know- they do as they are told.

Sorry I have waffled, too much probably ;D

If I had the time and freezer space I would feed ours on BARF. We have 4 dogs though and just cant do it. They all have naturediet though which is the next best thing, they do really well on that, one of my Jack russels is 17 now :)

Yes i've read that too :-\ I'm starting out on Natures Menu Frozen as that has the veggies and grains mixed in already, also the Natures Menu Pouches, they're not raw as such, becsuse they are slightly steamed in the packet, but it's only naural ingredients, no by products.

Also we are using raw chicken wings, so we are getting there... slowly :)

If you google BARF you will find a wealth of advice and ideas.
