Hi,
just wanted to see if there's any horsey people here too.
:) :)
Hey! I'm a horsery person! Been riding since I was 4 (now 22), did pony club the lot. Not owned a horse myself for the past few years due to money and work commimtments but still go riding!!

I have horses too! (and the guineas, two dogs, my lovely ferret and a bearded dragon I collected yesterday.)
I was looking on another piggie forum and was surprised how many people add horse feed in with their piggie's food. Mine love readigrass though.
Can you feed horsehage to guineas?

It's good to see horsey mad people on here too.
I don't own one at the moment, but do have a reg dales mare for share. I'm hopefully gonna take her to lots of shows this year for M&M and WHP, as she jumps really well. Can't wait :D :)

I havent thought of feeding my g pigs on horsehage or readigrass. They do get normal hay though. I think horsehage might be a bit fermented for them maybe? ::)

www.horseweb.co.uk, could'nt find a forum on this site
How about www.newrider.co.uk
Yep horsey person here too! Mum is a saddler etc. I've not had a horse for years though. When I came to Nottingham to study was the last time I had a horse & my old mare was retired at that point - now sadly she has gone (pts after a long struggle).
Horses are my ALL TIME favourite animal with guineas coming in a close second.
The biggest part missing in my life at the moment is of the equine variety. Although I was approached by one of my daughters nursery teachers because I am the 'animal' parent (don't know how to take this!) asking if I know of anyone who could exercise her pony 14.1h. I said me!
Do you think that I will be ok to ride him I'm 5ft4 and 8 1/2 stone? I've only ever ridden 15.2h and bigger. So my missing part may be filled very soon :)
I have been horse riding from the age of 3 have owned quite a few over the years and at the min me and my mum have a 15.2 coloured cob gelding. He is on loan to someone at the min though because i have not alot of time at the mo due to having 2 kids under 3! will be getting him back later on this year cant wait!

hi if you go to the home page and then scroll down the left hand side (there's small letters) its under GET TOGETHER heading then 'horseweb-UK forums' hope you find it.
its great that theres loads of horsey people on here too.
To Hils: you'll be fine to ride 12hh upwards. I'm the same as you and have owned, broke and rode and sec A 11.3hh, it was very weird to go on to bigger horses!!! like 13.2hh ;D :D
I have seen a horse on a classifieds site which I have fallen in love with she looks & sounds exactly like my old mare Gwena - except she's 17.3 :o
Hiils - you should be ok to ride that pony at your weight. God I wish I was that weight! There's been lots of correspondence iin Horse and Hound about the correct weight ratio for horses and riiders but you'll be fine. Do you know what breed the pony is? Some of the native breeds can carry adults a lot heavier than you. Go ahead and enjoy it. I had to have an operation on my back in October so I sent my lovely cob to our local agricultural college where he is used by the students in their lessons. Although I've got the youngsters at home still I miss him so much. The good news is the physio has now said I'm ok to ride again so I've ridden him twice so far and am going up on the downs with him tomorrow and I can't wait!

Hils you should be fine on a 14.2 I used to ride a 13.1 and I am 6 stone wet though I miss horseriding so much.
I went out today & I'm afraid I spent some money. I still feel guilty, but I brought a new hat. I've had my old one since I was 14 & is probably more dangerous than not!
I will be seeing Troy this weekend....& I can't wait :-*

Yes, I am a horsey person too ;D I can't afford a horse just now, but up until 5 years ago I had ridden all my life and at one time I bred and showed Welsh ponies (Section A and B).
I would love to have a Friesian horse one day, but can't afford it yet.

ooh i missed this post. I'm horsey.. or i should probably say ex horsey. I don't have the energy to ride anymore (M.E.) but i used to share two horses. Horses are still my favourite animal, but it's so hard to find contact, without working with them/or going riding.
