We have an elderly guinea pig who we think has become lonley. Billy has lived with us for 4 years he has a rolls royce lndoor life and has guinea pigs friends as neighbours .

Billy was a rescue piggy he was found thrown away in a skip and the workman who found Billy took hime to our vets for treatment & our vet asked us if we woul have Billy so yes of course.

Billy has always been a quiet piggy , somehow in the last 2 weeks he seems sad and off food, (we have never know Billys age ) I guess he is about 5 years old. (We have had Guinea pigs for 12 years so my knowledge is good ). Do you think Billy needs a Friend perhaps an older lady Guinea Pig.
I am nervous about placing a baby piggy with Billy in case when the Babay has grown he bullies Billy which I do not wish to happen.

................ any advice please ?

Thanks.

Perhaps you can find a rescue within reasonable reach that would be prepared to bond Billy with a suitable laid back older boar?

I know that fi. Cantillon (forum username) in Bristol only bonds adult boars and has lots of experience with that, so it might be worth contacting her for the best chance of success. She is also very good with advice and support and is prepared to rehome further abroad for the right home. I can warmly recommend her! email: info@cavyrescueandretreat.org.uk, phone: 0845 6435 359

Anna at wheek and squeak would be good to contact. She is in southampton and taught me how to bond the adults.
