Our poor old cat, Amy, is dying. :'(
She's an old girl, we're not sure how old, but at a guess, about 16.
She has had arthritis in her back legs for some while, which had been treated by injections at the vet's. Last week we noticed she was getting rather stiff again so we took her in. But this time he said it wasn't arthritis. Her poor old kidneys are wearing out and she is getting generally weaker. He said we should think about bringing her in soon to be pts - or he would do it there and then if we wanted him to.
We brought her home, but she has got steadily worse. She has not eaten anything for a few days now and spends most of her time asleep. At the weekend we wondered if she would just go peacefully in her sleep - but she hasn't, so we shall be taking her in this afternoon. :'(
She's an old girl and she's has a good life, but we shall miss her. She was a real 'character' - stubborn to the last!
I don't really 'do' Rainbow bridge, but when the time comes, we shall bury her next to Snug (Sammy's brother, who died last summer) They were good friends and Amy would often sit next to the piggy-run and she and Snug would 'kiss' (rub noses) through the bars.
Sleep well with Snug, Amy.
