Well, my Mum is determined to find the best pet that won't bother my brother and brother-in-law's allergies, so she was looking at the website of the local humane society to see what they had. She saw a poodle which is hypo-allergenic, so while we were at working, she went to go see her. The poodle wasn't for her, but she saw a couple more she liked, so when we got off (we were fortunate to get off early because of conferences and Valentine's day) she brought us down there to make sure they were good with us and to help her make a decision. None of them ended up being right for her, but while we were there somebody brought in a hamster cage with hamsters in it.

The people that work there know me because whenever they get guinea pigs in they call me, so they came over and asked me if I did hamsters. There was seven of them in one cage, an adult male, and adult female, and five babies. They just didn't want them and they didn't care about them (it was quite obvious) so I agreed to take them. They wanted to keep the cage, but if they were going to drop them off with me then I wanted the cage, as I had nothing for them to be in otherwise and no way to get them home. So now, along with all of the guinea pigs, I have seven hamsters. They're dwarf hamsters and quite cute, I'll post pictures when I'm able to take some. They're also all sweet, with the exception of the Mum, who is an evil little wench (and looks the part as well!) The only problem is that it's been a while since I've had hamsters, so I'm re-researching them to make sure I'm doing everything right ;D
