Hi, my name's Jackie and I'm totally new to forums so am still trying to get to grips with this one!
Just a bit about myself..I have two children, 12 & 8. We have had guinea pigs in the past (Harry and Ron, after the Harry Potter characters) who were lovely little fellas and when they passed away, I was adamant we wouldn't have more because it was so upsetting both for the children and for me. However, as time's gone on, we've thought about having more and after chatting to a friend who knew of a local rescue centre, I decided we'd definitely go down that route and not the pet shop one.
So now we just have to wait until my daughter's bedroom is decorated (as they will be living in there much to her delight!) and we will once again be proud owners of piggies!! :)
Must thank Suzy for recommending this forum x

Hi Jackie!

When we lost our first family piggy at the ripe old age of nearly ten years, my dad swore never again - yet by Christmas there were two; one for me and my sister each... :)) I have come back to have them as an adult now and enjoy them even more!

You couldn't be in better hands with Suzy.

We have lots of interesting information in our rather unattractively named reference section, as well as the top of the other sections. It's well worth a good old browse - lots of ideas on here!

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have!
