I came home to a very big surprise. My sister and mother were over and my sister has a miniature schnauzer (Derby), so I was not surprised to see a doggy in my house. However, I was surprised to see TWO doggies in my house. My mom and sister had been talking to Derby's groomer who apprently occasionally breeds. The groomer is mobile, so she comes to us. She brought the puppy with her (without telling my Mom) and dropped her off for a sleepover. Of course, I fell in love.
Her name is Luna and she is a black labradoodle. A labradoodle is becoming a breed, it is a mix between a labrador and a poodle. It has the strength and playfulness of a lab, but the brains and hypoallergenic-ness of a poodle (my brother and brother in law are both very allergic to normal dogs, so that was a must). She will be 8 weeks old this Saturday. I'll take some pictures and put them up soon.
Also, we did look at the animal shelter many times, but they all would have bothered my brother and BIL or were too agressive to have with all the guineas and my cat. The few that didn't fall under those two categories were either too yappy, not nice, etc. and just not the perfect dog. I emailed multiple rescues about multiple different dogs, but to this day have not received an answer. I would have loved to have rescued a dog, but I'm still ecstatic with her.
