Handmade guinea pig pouches for sale! WEBSITE UPDATED!!!

Hi everyone!

Jody (sparky) and I make these snuggly pouches for our guinea pigs, and we thought we'd offer them up for sale, and see if anyone else would like one! They are made from snuggly fleece on the inside for your piggy to cuddle in, and cotton on the outside so that they don't pick up bits of litter like fleece does. Each one measures 35x25cm, and theres a 'lip' so that your piggy can find their way in easily. Our piggers love to sit on them and in them! We also use them sometimes at lap time when holding our pigs, the pouch holds in the little ''gifts'' our pigs like to leave us! :D

We have a variety of colours available, and each one costs £5 including postage. If you'd like one, let us know, and we'll make it for you.

LOL Bunpig, Rolo may look cute but he is the loudest little pig I've ever owned! ;D I wouldn't be without him though! :smitten: Yep we can make little models of your pigs, all we need are some pics to go by.

The piggy in the pot is supposed to be an aby, I'm not sure that it turned out looking like an aby mind - it's so hard to do rosettes! :D

Chewing - our pigs don't chew our snuggly pouches, but I guess its the same as any other cuddle cup/pillow/soft toy that you put in their cage, you just have to keep checking for holes etc, and trim off any loose threads or similar. I don't think they should chew them up too much if they have plenty of hay to distract them!!! ;D

Just wondering, while the pouch was very well made and all, I did have the problem of keeping the opening, well, open.

So in the end my piggies sat on top of it, using it as a pillow rather than a sleeping bag ::)

I have seen bags that had the opening made stronger by a few layers of fleece, some used wire inside which I dont think is that good seeing as they could injure themselves if they chew through the material. But the fleece idea seems to work, and I was wondering if you could have a go at it for future pouches?

If so I would gladly buy some more off you :)

Of course! These are pouches, as we wanted to give our piggies the choice of sleeping, in, on top of, under them.... well, any way they like! Our pigs do get into them as they are, but if you wanted two layers of fleece so the opening pops open more, we can most certainly do that for you, you only have to ask! ;D The main reason we offer a cotton outer as well is due to the fact fleece picks up more litter in the cage, thus making it more difficult to get the bits off it. But, like I said, we will make two layers of fleece, its totally up to you!

If you look at that one, they put a bit of piping in the opening, so it stays open all the time and doesnt fold down.
the rest is like a normal sleepsack.

I know what you mean Abnoba. I attempted to make something similar for my piggies last year, we used some old wire coat hangers that we bent into shape and put through a stiched channel on the front. It reinforces the entrance but still allows the piggy to sleep on the back aswell.

Yep Abnoba I know exactly what you mean, we played around with designs when we decided to make the pouches and one with a few layers of fleece at the opening was one of them. We also did one with bothe fleece inner and outer. We can definitely make you ones like that if you want, we call those ones sleeping bags and the other ones are pouches. So yep, those would be no problem!
