Can someone please please advise me. I have recently got 2 guineas and have an outdoor run but im stuck as what to do with the indoor. Dont know what to get and main problem is what do you put underneath??! Currently im using old carpet but they are chewing it. Tried some plywood but they are slipping about on it and hardly move, dont think they like it. Wanted pop up playtent but been told they will chew it or claws will rip it? Advice?????!!!!!

Other members on here have used pop up tents, you could try and line the base of it with fleece and towels. Alternatively I have heard some people use small paddling pools too.

Welcome to the forum!
A lot of people have a C&C setup inside. It's basically just cubes (used to make storage units) with a coroplast base (the stuff signs are made of.) More information about this can be found here:

And how to make:

Where are you? In America I think it's pretty easy to find materials, and there are plenty of people from the UK here to advise you where to find the things. It's completely DIY and a lot cheaper than pet store cages. (Which aren't big enough usually, anyway).
As for the floor, I use fleece which is great. It's just a layer of newspaper, a layer of towels and on top a layer of fleece blankets (the cheap kind you can find at the supermarket). Then I have a hay box for them. People also use hay on the floor of the cage all over but this is quite expensive if you can't find someone who supplies in big bales.
We'd love to see some pigtures of your piggies! :)
Hello, when i first put my guinea pigs in an indoor run i found that an old towel or blankets do quite well. They are also absorbant for when they go to the toilet and you can shake off the poo into a bin or outside, i normally put a bowl of food in to keep them from eating the towel or put a chew toy in. I always put a hut in there because my guinea pigs would stay in one of those forever hope this help :)
I have the trixie indoor run as it can be used outside and inside and you can get the nylon bottom to go with it so it wont make a mess on your floor

Neither have mine. I use a c&c cage indoors and also use the cubes for an indoor run ... which can be attached to the cage too. I have a lino floor which is easily cleaned.

Yes, they have never chewed or had claws stuck in the fleece or towels.
To upload a photo you need a photobucket account (or something similair), then upload photos there and copy the direct link, paste it into the 'insert image' dialog box.
I'm sure if you pose a question to the community about a more specific area people will be able to help. Unfortunately I can't as I live in South Africa, but you can see how I made my alternative here:

Sometimes my pigs chew my blanket when they're out having lap time, but they never do it in their cage. I would try putting it down in a kind of cage situation and see if they still do it.

No they dont normally, they bit a bit but it wont actually bite all the way through, specially if they have some dried food / fresh food because then they wont need to eat the towel, mine have a habit of eating dust though, i do have strange guinea pigs
