Just been in another car crash!!!

Me and Luke were just on our way back to his parents so we could drop off his parents car and pick up my car (left it at his parents when we went Little Britain) and we were going down the country roads and on a straight bit of road and a car pulled out of a cross road infront of us so Luke swerved the car to try and miss him but we still hit and our car went spinning all the way down the road and the air bags went off and dust from the airbags were everywhere. The driver looked early 20s maybe younger and had his parents in the back and they were trying to blame us saying we were going too fast which we wern't - it is a 60mph road so of course we were going fast - not faster than 60 though. They have MASSIVE give way signs to them so its their fault. Me and Luke are okay and so are the others from the other car. I can't believe this is my 2nd car crash in space of 3/4months! (Never been the driver though!!)
I was talking to my sister on the phone at the time so I suppose all she could hear was screaming. Luke's knee hurts a bit and all I have is a headache so at least nothing too bad to us has happened!

I know - the passenger side of Lukes car (my side) was all smashed in and the other car at the side of the front of theirs was but ours was worse. It shows that when we were coming down and he pulled out that Luke swerved so he hit the front bit of their car and side front of ours sending us spinning over the road. When the air bags went off and the dust from them went everywhere we could not see at all. Loads of it went down my throat. We got the police out too!

Just can't believe they tried to blame us!

People hate to admit when they are in the wrong- sounds like you were very, very lucky not to be crushed!! Did you get checked over at the hospital just in case?

No, I am completely fine - as I said just got a headache and Luke banged his knee - He is going to try and get day off tomorrow - I can't really do that as I only been working at the nursery 2 weeks and had 2 days off cos I was ill - 10hours tomorrow for me!!

oh my! The pictures are dreadful!!! You're are both ever so lucky! So it's now 2 crashes Ellie, doesn't it make you never want to be the passenger? ;)
Having one crash would've put me off going in a car for a while, but two!!??

I am so annoyed - I came back from work early cos my back was killing picking up the little kids and they advised me to go docs and be checked so rang up docs and they told me I have to go hospital if it was a car accident - how stupid - I was only there 3 months a go being in a car accident. I hate going to the hospital - I cannot be bothered.

I went into work for an hour and a half today and couldn't handle holding the babies. It made my back ache so much.

I spoke to the Nursery Manager and I apologised about it and said I felt as though I should go in as I have already had 2 days off with the sickness bug and that this is all such bad timing and she told me not to worry about it and of course I would get the sickness thing when starting. She told me to go and get my back and neck checked out by a doctor so my mum rang the docs (I hate talking on phones lol) and said I had been in car accident and got bad neck and back and she said I would have to go to A&E. I think that is stupid as when I went down there after last accident all he did was feel my neck and back and told me to carry on taking painkillers. Surely a doctor at docs surgery can do same thing but if she felt as though I needed something that only a hospital could provide I would be more than happy to go down there.

Anyways... me and my mum went to A&E and it said waiting time was 2/3 hrs and it was so full in there that we walked straight out. We decided to actually go into the docs and explain that this is a new job for me and its looking bad that I have had time off and that I am having problems working with handling the babies/kids and that I don't think I have done any serious injury, the nursery just want me to get it checked out. She was very reluctant but got me in to see a doc at 3.20pm. I think its so stupid though that they say the doc at surgery can't see me because it was an accident. As I said if she says I need to go hosp for xrays or something then I would go down but if she is just going to feel my back then why can't the doctor at surgery do that.

yeah that bit makes sense.. 3-20 surely they could get you in earlier? Doctors are really bad these days!! Hope you get sorted soon

Well on the phone she told my mum they had no doctors appointments and said is it something the nurse can deal with so my mum went on to explain it was a car accident injury and she said I HAD to go A&E. I just don't see why the doctor at surgery cannot just see what they think and if they decide I should have to go A&E I will do. Grrrr... I hope she is not nasty to me cos my mum said she is a weird lady that is very serious (the doctor!)

they shouldn't be funny with you, if they do, then report them - you are right, cos all they got to do is check you over and then yes, if they think you need an x-ray then you will have to go to A & E.

Maybe they thought it would be quicker to go down there, even if they did just give you more pain relief?

I hate doctors at our surgery you have to ring each morning to see if there are any appointments and then its on a first come first serve basis, and by the time you get through all the appointments are gone anyway.

What a horrible experience for you both. So glad you are both reasonably well, though you must get checked over, because, if this gets taken further, by either the police or the insurance company, they will want to know exactly what has happened to you both. Hope you've stopped hurting by now.

Ellie, I do hope you went to A&E. One of the reasons they told you to go is just incase they need to take xrays. Also if you have a problem you can claim on theitr insurance It sounds like whiplash to me.

How the heck didnt the other driver not see you coming? Did the police check to see if the other driver had been drinking?

I went to the docs and she gave me really strong and said that I should have physio and that I should either claim it through the other persons insurance company or wait on NHS for 4 - 6 weeks. Do you think I could claim loss of earnings and my prescription charge lol I am so annoyed that now I work I have to pay it lol

It went ok then! LOL. You can claim on the insurance. Your injuries were sustained from the crash.

Good its already bad enough I have had more time off at the nursery. Might have tomorrow off then Wednesday is my day off then Thursday I should be fine as the pain killers will have kicked in def by then. Think they have already kicked in as I am so so sleepy!!! lol
