(here is Mitzi with Molly the guinea, they were inseparable)

We lost our darling bunny in December and this is bringing back all my pain typing this but I wanted to do it in her memory. She was only 18 months old and an absolute darling, she loved nothing better than to sit with you, snuggled in, and give her little kisses freely to you. I loved her so much. I always wanted a rabbit when I was a kid but mum was allergic. We bought Mitzi for our kids and she was theirs really but I adored her and still miss her so much.

I noticed Mitzi just didn't seem herself one day, monitored it for a day and thought I'd better take her to the vet so got an appointment that same day. Couldn't put my finger on it, she was just down, not lively. After an examination they found a lump in her tummy. Three choices were offered to me, a) have her put down there and then b) take her home and see what happened and she would probably die in a few days c) have a look inside (possibility it could be a food blockage they said) which would mean her staying in overnight and having an op in the morning, if it was a food blockage they could most probably clear it, all this supposing she survived the anaesthetic but at her age there was a chance apparently, all this costing £175 plus.

Had to go with third option as there was a chance but I got a phone call the next day to say the vet had opened her up and there was a HUGE tumour which she couldn't cut out because it would have caused damage to other organs, so sadly she had to be pts while she was under the anaethetic.

I can still remember our last cuddle in the vets surgery when the vet left us alone for a minute, I was kissing her and thanking her for being so wonderful and wishing her luck (am in floods here). I kept my scarf on for hours while I could still smell her on it. I torture myself with thoughts of her being on her own that last night, wondering if I'd made the right decision, didn't want to stress her out but she just seemed too young to die and had to give her the chance of making it through. Poor dear little Mitzi.

:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( 0:) Run free at Rainbow Bridge my darling little friend, thank you for all our happy times together and for spending your life with us. We loved you so very much and you were our special little girl.

Oh that is so sad, made me sniff too. A beautiful tribute. Mitzi was my mums cats name too, she died of a heart attack a few years ago and my mum still cries about her. RIP both Mitzi`s :-*

I am so sorry you lost her :( You are a very lucky person to have known the love of a rabbit...there is no love quite like it! She was a beautiful girl and she had a great life with you.
