Ill Again!!!

Hi Everybody

I haven't forgotten about you all. I am ill yet again but this time with my ears, throat nose and head.

I started out with a headache on Friday night as I left work and have not slept properly since or felt well at all.

I went to the out of hours doctors surgery at the hospital on Sunday and he said my ears and throat look ok. Well if they are ok they why can't I talk properly now? - Grrr!!

I'm going to the doctors again in just under an hour and see what they have to say. I really don't feel right at all!!

I will try and get on the forum as much as I can however if you have anything forum related you need to talk about please don't hesitate to contact Kate.

Hope you are feeling better soon Ellie! It is a hazard of the job I'm afraid. I have been ill pretty much constantly since I started teaching. You don't build up immunity - you just get used to working through being ill!!!!

these bugs going around are a real pain, my sons had 2 lots of anti biotics for a bacterial throat infection and almost at the end of the 2nd lot hes still complaining about the pain,
and I have had a cough since begining of jan a course of anti biotics have yet to get rid of it as well, these bugs seem immune from anti biotics now dont they?
maybe they are super bugs,

I was in a lecture the other day and Karen (my lecturer) said that we get so many more illnesses now because we're too clean like tissues that kill 99.9% of bacteria which makes sense really im always full of cold and im allergic to everythin! lol x

as you all know i have been illl and fingers crossed it has stayed away for a week now, it took 8 weeks for mine to clear up had 4 courses of antibiotics, and now my partner is going to the dr's today to get his second course of antibiotics,

Well... guess what... I am still ill!

This morning I got into the shower and suddenly got a really bad pain go across the lower part of my stomach then everything started spinning. I ended up collapsing on the shower floor and felt so dizzy and really hot. I went to the doctors again (having another day off work!!!!!) and they sent me to the hospital for blood tests to check for Glandular Fever, Diabetes, Kidney Problem, my blood count and Thyroid Glands. I absolutely hate blood tests more than anything in the world but I went in by myself and it actually wasn't too bad.

I have come over to my mum's house now and weighed myself as my jeans have been falling off all day. I have lost 4 pounds in about a week without even trying. So overall I have lost over a stone in the space of a couple of months for no apparant reason.

I have a hacking cough and am also constantly sweating. All I want is to feel better again!!!

Aww Ellie hope you feel better soon. i hate blood tests too but im so used to them now, if you've been feeling thirsty and tired and always needing a pee then it may be diabetes hope its not though. get well soon x

I am feeling tired a lot as yesterday it was my day off work and all I did was lie on the sofa all day and fell asleep a couple of times. I could sleep all the time if I could! I don't think I am necessarily drinking more but I am peeing more than I usually do. I am sure it will come back that I am absolutely fine which will be great. I just wish I could find out though what was wrong so I can start feeling better again!!!

Like Verity, I hate blood tests but I have to inject myself everyday on top of that!

Thanks Kelly - I hate any types of needles and respect the people who do have diabetes and have to inject themselves everyday - I really don't think I could ever do that! - I am such a wimp! :D

Last time I had a blood test I cried so much and nearly walked out and not had it done. I am very proud of myself for doing it today!!!

LOL I would be too lovey.. Nothing to it these days.. It used to hurt like hell and like you I used to bawl my eyes out so you're not alone lovey.

When are you hoping to get your results back?

I should hopefully get results back by end of next week but perhaps not till the week after as its a bank holiday weekend.

Thanks everyone :) I will let you know what results are when I find out.

For xmas some of the things Luke got me were like Pjs and Jeans which he had got off ASOS.com - I could not fit in them and now they slip on easily. Its great I have got to the weight I was before I passed my driving test (which was over a year a go!) as I always wanted to get back to 9 and a half stone but it is a bit worrying when I am loosing it without even trying!!

Went doctors in my lunch break to get my results and she said my blood glucose levels were high and that I need to ring the docs on monday to see if they want me to go in. She asked me if I had eaten before blood test and I said I wasn't told I couldn't but don't think I had cos I felt ill. I just done my blood on Luke's dads blood test meter and it says mine is normal. Who knows? - Suppose i'll have to ring on Monday.

LOL - the same as Mike and my family - my dad especially, he's a big fella but he was so scared and shouted ouch!!! Now and I again they all have a check! I prick my arm and it doesn't hurt - it's because you were thinking about it! :)

Exactly, Blood test results can vary all the time. I haven't really got any symptoms of diabetes so I am sure I am perfectly well...

I rang docs 1st thing Monday morn and the receptionist said the doctor would like me to go for another blood test but not eat for 10 hours or 12 (can't remember!) before it so I decided I would get it done today as its my day off. I haven't ate or drank anything between 11 and now so I will go later this morning. I am really scared again lol - It won't be as bad this time though because they are only testing glucose so they won't have to keep changing the little test tube things when taking the blood for diff tests so should be over and done with very quickly!

Well I officially have two horrible holes in my arm lol - I had the same lady who did it last time and she said I looked more worried this time. Think it is because I heard people had fainted that day lol.

So she was really nice and put it in but guess what.... no blood was coming out so she had to do it again in another vein so I was scared about her doing it the once and infact she had to do it twice lol. I will ring up on Friday for the result of it...

lol Well I shouldn't have been scared because it was only my glucose they were testing - the 1 before that was testing 5 diff things so more blood! I just look like a junkie now with needle marks in my arms lol

When I once had a glucose test done - to confirm of my diabetes, they got the results within a couple of hours!

I was quite surprised when I had mine done, everybody said it doesn't hurt, I was like yeah right!

But it was actually no different to having an injection or blood taken.

And my nose hurt less than my ears, that was an act of rebellion when I was about 13 :D
