what about the nero 3? ???

at least they are good quality for indoor cages and will 'match' the cage you already have!

She might not even have boars....hell, she might not even be preggers! :o ;D

She better be pregnant after all this stress!

Why dont you get a nero 3 for the boys when/if she has them?

;D ;D I wouldnt like to see your face if you found out she wasnt :o ;D ;D

Ah, are they cheap then?
Thing is I can only really go to Wilsons Pets, The Range and my local pet shop...and I think all of those over-charge!
Will have a look around though :)
lol Im excited about the babies now so am secretly hopiung she is! Never wanted babies and Id never put her through it purposely...but now its happened, Im excited!

Thats what I was like near the end! ;D ;D You will love it when they are born! Within an hour they are running around eating hay...they just look like mini versions of pigs....all their hair, eyes open...its soooo weird! ;D ;D

I think they are about £40...I just got one bigger than the nero 4 for £50...but its such poooor quality...thin flimsly base and bars :(

What about ordering online from zooplus? any chance you could do that? :-\

You have 3 weeks until you have to seperate the boys after birth so if i were you id save some money in the meantime, then if she doesnt have any boars, you will be okay!! O0

Ohhh I can imagine how excited you are!!!!!!! ;D ;D :smitten:

Yeah just thought I didnt wanna spend loads on a new cage if I dont even need one!
Not sure why I said £40 lol, £25 would be more preferable.
How about this one though? http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/rodents/cages/guinea_pig_cages/43847
I get paid Friday then thats it for another 4weeks so if Im gonna get a cage it'll haveta be now lol

well....hmmm....technically you could wait until next pay day as you wont need to use the cage for at least 3-4 weeks? :-\

Im cr*p with measurements tbh...post the link to the cage on the main board and ask people...thats what id do anyway! ;D O0

If you had boars, would you keep them? As if you arent, they will only use the cage for 3 weeks before being rehomed, so dont spend too much!! :o

To be honest I'd rather only have 1 cage of piggies...so realistically I cant keep any (3 in a Nero 4 is maximum!) though I know I wont want to rehome any!!! But with the boys I'd rather get homes for them as I wouldnt want to risk them fighting when hormones kick in and having to split them.
Hopefully she'll just have girls anyway :D lol

Would a Ferplast Mary cage be suitable for any baby boys just for about 3weeks?
Its this one http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/rodents/cages/hamster_mouse_cages/30347
Its for hamsters but can hold 2 rats so providing she has no more than say 2-3 boys then it'd be ok?

TBH i don't thinka ny cage labeled for anythign smaller thana guinea pig is suitable, could you possibly build a c+c cage ?
I hope you sort things out :)

No I dont have any grids and dont have the room, I need a small, temporary cage to house any potential boys from Nalas litter for about 3weeks.
Some cages Ive seen in shops today labelled for guinea pigs are smaller than my Mary cage...

most guinea pig cages are tiny :)
i reccomend Nero 3 although i suppose it's out your budget ??? have you got your old rabbit hutch still, maybe they can live outdoors for a while?

I just thought I could use a cage Ive already got save spending more money.
Nope no hutch, sold it ages ago and I wouldnt want them outside anyway :)

if you were going to use a cage you alreay have why are you asking to buy one?

there is nopthing wrong with having piggies outdoors if uit has a safe hutch and a celan environment and the weather is ok :)

No I meant I already have a Mary cage so I was asking if it was ok as Id rather use one Ive got rather than buying a brand new guinea pig cage :)
I just personally dont agree with animals being kept outside, its too risky. I had my rabbit murdered in my own back garden when I was 6years old. Yes I got another rabbit about 11years later but I wasnt keen on him being outside but I didnt know about house rabbits then and I found him a decent home as a house bunny anyway!

I think whatever you do..you should try and line up some potential homes for say 2 boars and 2 sows, then you are at least pertially covered rather than only having 3 weeks to rehome them when they are born! :o

Well I dont want to let anyone down, I'd probably get too attached to let any go, and obviously then I'd go out and buy larger cages.

Its ok!
My areas quite nice but its only like a 5min walk from a bad area, plus theres a hell of a lot of cats that live in my garden (my fault, I look after 2 outdoor cats, and loads of strays turn up!) plus with this current change in weather...boiling hot one day, cold and rainy the next..the temp change would likely kill them!
