Happy New Year everyone!
Weighed in at SW yesterday and "only" put 5 pound on. Considering the amount of Christmas nibbles, i take that at a win!
I live in Scotland but we had a massive rented house in Norfolk over Christmas week so the whole family could be together. My son and his girlfriend...
:D
Absolutely!
For next year (or even your Christmas stocking!) I can highly recommend a book called "how not to die" by Michael Gregor. It really turned me around with its info on what processed foods do to your body. And what a diet of decent unprocessed food does to your body.
In the...
It's not easy is it, @Sar ? Especially at this time of year. I'm afraid i can't offer any tips to get your head in gear. I sat for over a year at SW doing nothing. In the end my health was suffering so much with my eating, i got on board. I was getting a lot of palpitations and gastric reflux...
I am out for an Indian with my SW group on Monday after weigh I'm:))
Away Christmas week 22nd to 29th but don't want to fall off the wagon completely . . .
That's good going @BossHogg
Can we get this thread up and running again for support over Christmas? Obvs we will all gain won't we?! But hopefully we won't lose our heads completely and be ready to roll on again in the New Year!
How's everyone going on here? I seem to have dropped off the thread in 2021, soared up to just over 13 stone but got 2 stone off and am now 11stone 2 pound. About one more stone to go and i will be there. Slimming World has been helping🙂
This is their summer outdoor hutch - by Steve of Garden Woodcraft.
He drove all the way up from England to my garden in Scotland to build this hutch!
It is a couple of years old now and still totally weatherproof.
But it's all closed up again now til next Summer
Well, they came in last weekend and very happy they are too! I'm glad as we have had a lot of rain and strong (very strong) winds so the nightly trips out to the garden to close them up have not been missed🌬️☔
One of mine had a haypoke this summer and I was £150 at the vet for something that can be bought over the counter at the chemist! Very annoying!
Whilst it healed i just had fleece and fleece cozies for sleeping and i have one of those large wooden cylindrical hay holders so i filled that with...
Well, looks like my two won't be coming in today after all - we have no cable ties for the c& c (having a cat and 2 dogs calls for a very secure cage!)
I'm going to change all their hay to make sure they can get warm. They aren't in a shed but they do have a magnificent hutch hand built by...
OMG it is very cold here in Central Scotland!
8° C.
Friday was so cold, we had the central heating on! Things improved yesterday but it is chilly again today.
Going to build up the C&C and bring the pigs in today. They have been fine outside and have plenty bedding and hay but it's too damp...
Thanks @Betsy ! I do actually have an old hoover! My hutch isn't crawling with earwigs as the OP's but a lot seemed to keep coming out of the join in the bottom level of the hutch. None at all top level.
I know why though - i change the top level more frequently as the pigs spend much longer...
Oh this is brilliant thanks! I know it's an old thread but i have just found a load of earwigs in my pig hutch. Only on the lower level though. I do have F10 in stock. Brilliant stuff!
We are in Scotland so not as hot as down South but i brought Belle and Ebony into the downstairs loo yesterday which is the coolest room in our house. They were back in their hutch outside last night (this is the first summer they have been in the fabulous hutch that Steve came and handbuilt in...
That's a good point @PigglePuggle - about pellets being a small part of the diet. I dont know how i ever got started with oxbow as it is an American brand but i have always fed it since starting with pigs back in 2012. Oxbow timothy hay is a favourite too for the pigs! No supply issues there so...
Lol i have never had to change before - i do have a little cavy cuisine left so we will see if customs releases that shipment in time! I will keep the brands you use in mind though. What i like about the cavy cuisine is that it is just about pure hay so, for poorly pigs, just add hot water and...
