Good news joey has now been discharged from the vets as his eye is now healing. We just have a little more healing to go and all should be ok. Which is a huge relief for me and of course joey.
Thanks for the well wishes. X X
Joey is still doing very well and he is eating by himself and is back to his cheeky self. He is coping very well with one eye and I'm sure that he only has little sight in his only eye, as he does walk into things when he's unsure where he is. But the eye is improving every day and we have...
Still doing very well, went back to the vets today at 10.20 am and the vet was very pleased that they swelling has come down again since she saw him on Monday. She also seen how active he now is and was pleased that he was running about on the table. She also weighed him and he had put on...
I have been unable to log onto the site for A while. Unfortunately joey had his right eye removed on the 25th Sept. As it was not responding to any of the treatment. I have been handing feeding him and nursing him back to health. We have also had to treat the left eye and there is a chance we...

We have just come back. The vet said it looks like a infection and has given me different drops. We now have tiacil drops. Has anyone used them. He has to have them in 3 times a day. We have to go back on Wednesday. She did say if no improvement he may have to go in and have it cleaned and the...
Thanks, yes they gave me the fucithalmic. I used it for 2 weeks and then was told to stop and only go back if it got worse. Now his eyes are like this. I'm so nervous about taking him.
My pig Joey went to the vets a few weeks back as he has what seemed like a hay poke. He went back twice and i was using the eye cream they gave me.
Last night i noticed his eye was different and here is what it now looks like. Is this cherry eye or fatty eye or a infection. Its odd that they...

Hes booked in for 5.10pm today, unfortunately my guinea pig vet is off for 8 weeks as he is having neck surgery. Hopefully the other vet will be as good.
Hello not posted on here for a while. I just wanted to ask if anyone knows what this is on Joey's eye. He has developed a small white/cloudy mark on his right eye. His other eye is clear, the eye did weep a little (watery) but now seems to be ok and this is his eye today. Is this anything to...
I understand your worries. I know that there has been some success stories of female pigs passing bladder stones, with help from pain relief maybe you could discuss this with your vet. xx
One of my pigs Gizmo had a bladder stone removed in April, is was very large and being a male he was unable to pass it. He did however pass a small stone 2 weeks before he had his op for the large one. I would go for the surgery if i were you, did the vet say how many stones she had and did they...
He is much happier i feed him every hour to make sure he's eating and he just sat on my lap eating for himself for about 15mins :) Then he went back with his best friend Gizmo to eat some grass. Hopefully he will feel better soon and he popcorned on my lap :) xx
