Hello all,

I have three pigs, a few months ago they all had a bad bout of ringworm. They all got better, but one pig Bella has a small patch again, its getting better with the help of surolan and I'm happy with the progress.

However, my boar Norman has something on his nose. Vet and I assumedit was a small ringworm patch but it doesn't seem to be clearing up and I'm not sure it is ringworm. Its sort of bumpy and looks sore. The photos below make it look worse than it is but if anyone has any thoughts? Due back the vet end of the week. He doesn't seem bothered untill I try and put the stuff, not sure if its cos its sore or he has a nose touching aversion!

Its just been one thing after another lately :{

Actually googling it does like fungal, but you how you worry...

Hi, it looks like "teddy bear nose" to me (but I'm no expert). Dindy has a very similar thing on her nose. It's like a scabby warts. It's never irritaded her and has never got any worse in all the time she's been with me. I don't believe that Dindys scabs are Cheilitis as it is dry and there is no infection underneath and it is above her nose rather than on her lips and lip to nose crease.

Hmmm, the description on the first post you mentioned sound very familiar:

'The "fungal nose stripe" (with debate over whether it is fungal or not!) can be quite common. It does tend to be a small stripe on the nose, thickness of the stripe can vary, but the skin itself appears almost 'stitched' or 'bobbled'.'

This seems to describe it to a tee actually; I don't think its chellitis, as it really doesn't resemble the photos. He's had it about 4 weeks noticeably but it doesn't seem to be spreading as such, just not getting any better!

His nose is the hardest place to treat as he's always brushing himself, especially as soon as I dab the stuff on.

It looks like Mavis' nose on this thread, but angrier if you see what i mean

Thank you for your suggestions, I feel better now as I think it probably is teddy bear nose.
