I've just been watching the 50 greatest kids shows and it's got me feeling very nostalgic (not hard to do really!). I thought it'd be interesting to see what everyone on here rememebers and if anyone remembers some that weren't on the list - most of my old faves didn't come up :(

Here's my list to get us started:

Knightmare
Incredible Games
Spatz
Mike and Angelo
Funhouse
Finders Keepers
Get Your Own Back
The Biz
Eathfast
The Riddlers
The Storyteller (I think that's what it's called?)
Clarissa
Greenclaws
Playdays
Sesame Street
Art Attack
Rosie and jim
Sooty and Sweep
Byker Grove
Bitz and Bobs
How 2
Arthur
The Queen's Nose
The Wilde House

And probably many many more that I I can't remember.

Oh just rememebered another that I can't remember the name of but it was two boys who had an invisible space ship type thing.

Apologies for such a long post - think I've just worked out why I'm so addicted to the TV!

I was born in 1988 so I don't really remember much of the 80s, but some of my favourite programmes from the early 90s were:
Powerrangers
Playdays
Goosebumps
Rosie and Jim
Fun House
The Queen's Nose

Oo I remember quit a few of those 'the queens nose' I used to watch religiously hehe

Can anyone remember hey Arnold and ninja turtles :)
I was a cartoon junkie hehe cartoon sure aren't what they used to be..

'Hey Arnold'! YES! I loved that programme. And Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles :))

Great stuff!

Knightmare all the way, Rach's best friend was on it and she tells terrible lies about warehouses and sets and things......

I loved crackerjack as a kid

I am coming back to this thread once I've come back form shopping :)

Wow, I'd actually been thinking about starting a thread myself on the same subject! I remember some of the shows you mention Nicola, but mostly only because my younger brother watched them - mind you, he was still watching all the kids tv well into his teens, and probably at uni as well!
Sooty and Sweep has been going a very long time, Sesame Street did as well, so I watched both those. Others I remember -
Grange Hill (although I wasn't allowed to watch this in the early days, as my mum thought it very unsuitable, and a bad influence!)
Trapdoor (utterly brilliant, I have watched some of this recently on Youtube)
Willow the Wisp
Simon and the Witch
Johnny Briggs ("my mam, who's a nurse..."
Newsround and Blue Peter
Words and Pictures
Rentaghost
Various animation things - Ulysses was one I liked.

Some programmes I saw from when I was very young, I can't seem to remember the names of - there was something that was about a dolls house and the dolls that lived in it - one of them was called Marchpane - anyone recollect this?

Also schools tv - that wierd Wordy character who floated around in space, what was that to do with? And Picturebox - I saw the intro for that on Youtube, and although I don't actively remember it, it seemed to strike a chord somewhere - very odd sensation.

Not forgetting the famous Broom Cupboard, Gordon the Gopher, and later Edd the Duck! My mum had a pash on Philip Schofield, heehee!

I'm quite erm.... old, so I remember things like Rentaghost, Willo the Wisp etc (loved that!) Pipkins was probably my favourite - I still want a brown rabbit I can call Hartley (even though obviously he was a hare! :))) Oh and the Flumps, and Chorlton and the Wheelies (that was really sinister!)

I was still watching kids telly in my 20s though. Sabrina the Teenage Witch could be my specialist subject on Mastermind for definite.

Anyone remember The Spooks of Bottle Bay, and The Secret Life of Toys? I was definitely watching those as a student, and I can still sing the theme tunes!

I remember all of those was some good tv shows on in the mid/late 80's early 90's. Loved Knightmare, Rentaghost and Simon and the Witch, ooohhh and the Borrowers. Anyone else remember chockablock?

I love this thread! I can remember most of the shows mentioned. My favourites were
Grange hill
Byker grove
He man
She rah
Parsley and the herbs
Johnny Briggs
Simon and the witch
Sack a day
Care bears
Gem

I just thought to mention Maid Marian and her Merry Men! That started when I was at secondary school, and it had quite a cult following amongst some of us! My best friend and I were so excited if it was going to be on when we got home!
Much later I got the DVDs, and I still think it's brilliant, and can quote some of the scenes almost word perfect. Also love the songs!

Any more MM fans out there?

Was it on Crackerjack where some guy used to say "Ooh, I could crush a grape!" (wierd!) or was that something else?!

I don't seem to remember this Knightmare thing - I must look it up on Youtube and see if it rings any bells.

That's the one Stu Francis I think his name was...Not the worlds greatest catch phrase :))

Do you remember Choc-a-bloc?

I'm 25 and I STILL watch my old favourites on Netflix.
Hey Arnold is one my top cartoons as well as The Wild Thornberrys and Rugrats (never too old for them!)

I saw most of that show last night - made me feel very nostalgic,as most of the older shows were ones I used to watch growing up,I loved the Clangers,Bagpuss,Rentaghost etc... I always watched Rainbow when I came home for lunch from Primary School,it was on just before The Sullivans (showing my age now :)) ) - I remember Knightmare and Maid Marion, and the BBC broom cupboard, admit it how many of you still know the words to the theme tune of Mysterious cities of Gold!

Although they do still make the odd good kids show these days - Shaun the sheep anyone? (not that I watch it,or have the DVDs, nooo, far to old now :red )

Most defiantly a thumbs up on all 3 of those :)

As there are two of us our rememberance of kids tv shows are completely different but to confuse you all we have put them all together.

Bagpuss, the Clangers, Runaround, How, Magpie, Blue Peter, Rhubarb and Custard, Top Cat, Tom and Jerry, The Flintstones, The Banana Splits and The Monkees (on a Saturday morning), Dr Who, Blakes 7, Worzel Gumidge (Ali - not Lisa!), Magic Roundabout, Paddington Bear, Hong Kong Fuey, Touche Turtle, Dastardly and Mutley, Stop The Pigeon, Wacky Races, Sapphire and Steel, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, The Pink Panther Show, The Wombles, the Road Runner and Wylie Coyote, Pipkin and the King of it all - Basil Brush!

The sad thing is we can still remember most of the theme tunes too but they're not like they used to be as the violence has been considerably curtailed from when we were younger mallethead We still watch some of the kids stuff today like Wallace and Gromit and Robbie the Reindeer at Christmas and Lisa in particular is looking forward to the new Clangers when they start :(|)
