What Do You Put In Your Hutch?

I'm sorry if this is a really silly question but how do you clean your hutch? I use the newspaper to try and fold it all up into a package. If you don't use newspaper how do you clear out the old bedding? I find cleaning out the hutch a bit difficult and end up with more old bedding all over...

    Cleaning Up An Old Hutch

A good quality hutch disinfectant will do, I get mine from Wilkos for £2.50, you don't have to spend a fortune. Any nasties in the hutch will be sorted with a good diluted bleach solution and a liberal application of disinfectant. ;) Wilko Hutch and Cage Disinfectant Cleaner 300ml

    Cleaning Up An Old Hutch

Thank you @BossHogg & @jayne ! I was wondering if there was a way to clean it thoroughly without ordering f10. I'll price it up properly and have a think. Whatever's gonna protect the piggies! I'm really paranoid it's gonna stress them out or make them poorly if I'm not thorough enough! :S

    Cleaning Up An Old Hutch

Thank you! Would it be okay to use on wood d'you think? There'd be at least days, possibly a week, before any piggies would go into the hutch too, if that helps?

    Cleaning Up An Old Hutch

Hi All! I've purchased a used hutch; the wood is still sturdy, but there's some urine staining around the wood on the bottom of the 2 levels. What's the best way to disinfect, and neutralise the scenting on the wood? I've seen some people use vinegar, bleach, disinfectant, but I'd really like...

    Slug Trail In Outdoor Hutch

Put them in your hair.. Lol! I know its disgusting, but I have quite the story involving slugs and hutches. Lice.... Any Advice

If it's static lice that usually comes from the hay so It may be worth Binning the current bag and trying a new one. You've disinfected the hutch and washed bedding at 60 so there's nothing more you need to do. They've had Xeno so unless they get worse (start going bald)/ scabby you don't need...

    Lice.... Any Advice

I would recommend to change the hay. Personally, I find getting a bottle of F10 disinfectant concentrate or spray very effective for any deep clean, as it is the only one that also kills ringworm spores; most disinfectants are only antibacterial, not antifungal. Sadly, vet bills are the biggest...

    Ringworm?

I previously posted about my guinea pig who developed a crusty inner ear. The veterinary nurse gave me some mylozone or something spray to apply generally (plus a squirt in the ear) twice a day. It's been 8 days now and although the actual ear is looking better, it seems to have spread to where...

    Another Fungal I Think

Hi everyone, noticed that Honey has a bald patch on her rump a couple of days ago. I've been putting on GG's Kwench lotion since then, and have tweaked out the hair which looks like it should come out. The skin looks fine, but her hair has dandruff type stuff attached to the bottom of them. I...

New Pig Mum - Ringworm And Guinea Pairs

Thank you for replying :) I am really pleased that I can keep them together, is there anything I should know about bathing them or is it straightforward?
