I line my plastic hay trays with newspaper then some of that egg carton bedding (used to used Fitch but the price went up ) this is proving to be a good alternative.. then hay on top... this gets changed once a day (used to do it twice a day but now i have to have 2 hay trays i just do it once).

I pick up Fitch from their store. It's much, much cheaper than online, but more like £10 rather than £6.

Fitch are out of large bags of bedding again. Although I could have smaller bags for almost twice the price. I really do wonder if they are just trying it on to see if I will pay more for it.

I use Fitch under the hay. It's recycled paper bedding and very soft and absorbent. It is wasteful, as I change it every few days, but I have changed to fleece from Fitch throughout the cage, so it's less waste over all.

I'm about to change over to a wooden cage and was going to put a vinyl flooring in it and a thick layer of Fitch or Carefresh on top of that.(I didn't really want to go down the fleece route.)Would that work ?

I have a 1x2 hay loft, lined with newspaper and a layer of fitch bedding. It's meant to keep the hay off the fleece but still gets everywhere. But the pigs like it.
