Finally saw Ginny drinking earlier, phew.
She's also lying down, got a chookenleg as well as a pancake.
She also reminded me in no uncertain terms that I was 10 minutes later with their veg! Bad slave.
Back to normal then.
Have you checked whether he is walking and running normally?
Some piggies like to sleep with one or two back legs stretched out like that if they feel comfortable and safe in their surroundings. We call them 'chicken or chookenlegs'.
Guinea pigs can flop when they are really relaxed. We call legs sticking out 'chicken or chookenlegs'.
However, belly flopping in hot and humid weather can also be a symptom of overheating/heat stroke.
Please read the information in this link here: Hot Weather Management and Heat Strokes
It's either her or Flump always on it. I have a blue cuddle cup that Sherbet loves but is a little too big for, so she'll walk on until her face is mooshed into the wall and her back legs are chookening out the entrance. Piggies are so funny when they decide they like something. :love:
Loving all those CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKENS! :love::love::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:
And there is nothing wrong with your Chookenleg either Andrea!
Lovely sleepy piggies! The "melting" and "chooken leg" thing normally give them away :) first time I saw mine lying down eyes closed sleeping I thought they were dead and had a panic attack lol...
This is a disabled legchooken from Clover (with a big pile of poops) which is special because thats the furthest I've ever seen her straighten her poor twisty lumpy little leg, metacam and exercise are helping a bit!
A chooken means a very relaxed piggy. They stick their legs out when they are relaxed and happy in their world.
Here are a few examples of mine.
Christian showing what the Good Lord gave him (or he would be if the Plum Fairy hadn't visited:)))
Christian doing is best frog impression...
Worst is fighting while bonding when you realise your cute little fluff balls are actually savage beasts!
Best is relaxed chookenlegs when the piggies are so happy they melt into a big puddle with little feet sticking out :)
