I don’t have a clue regarding uhaul as we don’t have it here. But you could always just lay the fleece on top of the uhaul without seeing together, it does the same job. And considering how big the liner would be it would probably help to do that.
...thought of making a hidey from the corroplast!
You can use wood shavings but they need to be dust free and kiln dried. I think some people use uhaul blankets under fleece but I understand it's quite heavy and hard to dry. Most of the members of the forum are in the uk so we have different...
We just bought uhaul pads, and fleece fabric. Washed the fleece 3 times, cut, trimmed, etc. We put it in our cage (we have a midwest cage for now, as we have a mom and baby daughter they like to stay close) my question is do we/should we put anything under the uhaul pad? As the baby gets older...
Hi and welcome
It is great that you are doing your research beforehand and that you are tackling your pets as a family.
Guinea pigs are crepuscular; i.e. they are most active in the mornings and early evenings when they are wired to march to their grass feeding grounds in single files along...
...fleece liners it’s important to have something absorbable underneath for the urine. It can be puppy pads, towels... what I use personally are Uhaul furniture pads. Anti-pill fleece is typically the best type of fleece to use for liners as they wick easily and aren’t big and fluffy like...
Hello, I got my piggies 4 months ago and immediately made some fleece liners. I went to B&M and got one of their fleece pet blankets, they’re super thick and better than your average fleece blanket. Then I got a mattress protector that has absorbency on there and then another mattress protector...
I’ve been gathering excess fabric and uhaul pads as I have extra after sewing my cage liners - and I’ve been wanting to make extra accessories with it, but I don’t have too much experience sewing to be able to make it freehand.
Does anyone have any patterns or guides for sewing little...
...a day/night cycle.
3) I use puppy pads at the moment and they work great. Maybe not so eco-friendly but I am in the process of switching to uhaul pads. You would wash them just like the fleece. Non-scented, senesitive skin detergent would be good with a splash of vinegar as fabric...
eBay is a good place. As well as fabric shops but that’s useless at the moment. Some things to use are towels, disposable or reusable puppy pads, mattress protectors, zorb, uhaul stuff.
We have 4 females in a 3x6 c&c cage. Uhaul pads on bottom, fleece on top. (extra uhaul scraps in the corners where they tend to go out of spite). For the most part they're about as litter box trained as it's gonna get (2 of them are 90% litter box trained, the other 2 are new to our family and...
...(she buys new towels every color change). Fleece was purchased at joann fabrics. Never tried puppy oads (they are expensive at walmart) or uhaul pads so I cannot give feedback there for you.
4. Yes get two of everything. I have two water bottles. Two tunnels. Two hideys (with two exits...
...U can also use removal blankets for middle layer- cheaper than zorb. The blankets removal firms use. Good videos on YouTube. Liners take a while to dry but pee pads don’t. The US vids refer to Uhaul. They are the removal blankets I spoke about. Feeling rich? Zorb is fab and sews up lovely.
Yes, we already clip the fleece to the edge of the coroplast. We try to put extra uhaul under the heavy areas. I guess one way to find out if they would burrow under the noodle mats is to put them in! If they do then we'll put them under the fleece but on top of the uhaul LOL
Anyone used fleece with uhaul/removel blankets ? I’m thinking of sowing a fleece to the Uhaul blanket would I need to do fleece on the other side aswell or could I just use I haul for the under layer and then fleece on top ? Would this removal blanket be ok?
...water no longer pools on top. It immediately sinks into the fabric, but the fleece is still saying wet like it isn't sucking the water to the uhaul pad below. One of my boys immediately peed on the new liner, and when I run my fingers across the wet spot, my fingers are damp. I decided to go...
I'm beginning to see that it's all inevitable 😂 So for now we have hand towels in the corners under the fleece, on top of the uhaul, and will change those out every other day. See how the week goes 😆
...they clearly burrowed for some reason. Comfort, because they were scared, etc. I just didn't think it was healthy, I only have one layer of uhaul pad under because the other two are litter box trained. So having these 2 new girls burrow means that uhaul pad was getting SOAKED quickly and...
Not too sure about Uhaul. I think the closest thing we have here in UK is zorb. But there are many who use ‘pee pads’ in high areas of (urine) traffic. If you have several you can change them regularly, hopefully that would help.
