Tonight I finished:
One 2x4 grid cage liner
One balcony liner
One pee pad.
I think they're getting better. Sewing with uhaul is more difficult than I had anticipated! Also, I ordered another buttload of fleece. I have years of amazing cage tours to catch up to!
...first headstrong guinea pig that has run of my daughters room and a permanently open cages) and I ended up ordering 21 yards of fleece and 7 uhaul pads and a new sewing kit. Your seams are professional compared to the ones I'm doing but you can't see them at least since I made it about a half...
Yeah it's exactly the same thing....recycled denim :). I've made a couple of 2x2 liners with just the fleece on top. Only thing is the uhaul moults, so if you were washing I would definitely put it into a washbag. If you do use fleece on both sides, I would personally put a different design at...
...bedding and really want to start making my on liners but no sure on the right fleece to get. I've heard so many different things. I understand uhaul matteral is the best for the absorbent layer. Also I am need to the Guinea pig world but have done tons of research on food and cages and my...
...of the cage matters too. If they are always soiling in the same area, vs moving around and allowing the soiled area to dry.
I have used the uhaul blankets, towels, mattress protector and zorb (cloth diaper material). I find uhaul and zorb to work better than towels and mattress protector...
...to. We have to go out and paid at the laundromat to do laundry and washing all those pads, plus fleece can be pretty pricey you know.
Recently i started using uhaul moving blanket under the fleece and i really love it! I just thought that they wood pellets i saw was such a great idea and cheap
Ah thank you. I did wonder but wanted to make sure they were going to work the same. Some say made of recycled material but not sure what type! I know uhaul is denim
We have got uhaul, it's just called furniture moving blankets over here. Doesn't sound so good sure it doesn't lol. U can get zorb on eBay etc but it's quite pricey! U.K. based company Candecosies uses zorb in their liners X
I'm changing over to fleece bedding and I want to make some pee pads to go under their houses and where they pee most. I can only do simple hand stitching but was wondering what to use inbetween the two layers of fleece? I'm in the UK as I know in the US Uhaul is the recommended thing to use.
...seem to source ones that are "mixed textile" or "woven textile" - does anyone know exactly what that means and whether these are as good as the US Uhaul version (I know they're different!) Anyone got any experience with the UK ones?
Also, where do you recommend for buying fleece?
Thank you :)
I've used 2 layers of uhaul (called furniture moving blankets in the uk). I found it works really well and is cheap. The only downside is it's quite thick so takes a little longer to dry X
of course everyone need to know his/her own piggies! my former piggie chew the wallpaper and nibbled a chair! Sometimes piggies love digging... My piggies prefer eating important documents and books :mal: rather than the paper underneath the fleece :)). Anyway, my fleece is not put on the paper...
