Grain free, soy free, molasses free, and bad ingredients free

I use Science Selective Grain Free pellets which mine love. Not sure if they’re free of the other ingredients. I also don’t know if they’re available in Germany. @Mrs Tiggy Winkle lives in Germany and @Viennese Furbabies is in Austria so they may be able to give you better advice

Grain free, soy free, molasses free, and bad ingredients free

I understand salt , synthetic vitamins ,cereals , sugar . I give mine straight Timothy pellets I’m sure you can find one in Germany , synthetic vitamins are indigestible for everyone! it’s so confusing. I tried the science select grain free for mine and had an excess of calcium in the urine and...

    Best liquid hay?

...anyone has any opinions on liquid hay options out there? I've tried Oxbow Critical Care (both flavours) but one of my piggies HATES it! Has anyone tried the Science Selective recovery feed or the Burgess Excel Dual Care? Would love some opinions because right now it's a battle! Thank you :)...

...to feed pellets if you're not comfortable feeding them. They are not really esssentiel to a guinea pig's diet. Mine get a bit of Science Selective and Versele Laga pellets but just as special treats. You could also have a look around here but I'm not sure if they are soy free...

    Dry Flaky Skin

...are prone to having dry skin. The only thing that helped the ones we got in the rescue centre was to make sure they're fed a good quality nugget. We use science selective for the guinea pigs where I volunteer and it helped a bit. But sometimes they will have scurfy skin due to their coat/skin...

    8 week old boars

...weeks old so whichever you buy, don’t buy a big bag. They only have one tablespoon per day which can take months to get through. Science selective grain free (non alfalfa based) are well recommended as a commercial brand. Piggie parcels is a company run by a member of this forum. Her...

    bloat?!

...a cup of water in the fridge to help it stay fresh. We did also switch them about a week ago from Oxbow young guinea pig pellets to science selective grain free pellets of which we hand feed 1 table spoon and hide the other tablespoon around the cage. Is it just that they are putting on...

    What to prioritise!?

Consider that they may actually want a bit more calcium in their diet, especially if they are used to high calcium levels. Calcium pees can be actually a sign that their calcium levels in the diet may be too low for an ideal phosphorus : calcium : potassium ratio where you live. Why not add...

Dental Post anaesthetic lethargy and smelly urine

...and 0.4ml baytril daily. I have emerald arriving by Amazon this afternoon, he’s currently on oxbow critical care and he hated the science selective! I’ll check out the thread and suggest the other antibiotic too. The lancing was a tiny hole made in the outside of his throat / underside...

    Harringtons optimum pellets

I personally don't feed Burgess, Science Selective or any of those brands that contain genetically modified soy! Soy alone is bad enough, but when it's genetically modified it can cause all kinds of issues! Sorry I know you've already bought a 10kg bag and like it, but unfortunately not many...

Piggies No Longer Liking Oxbow Garden Select pellets

...actually need him to chew as much “hard” as possible. So pellets, though limited, are still necessary for us. I snagged a bag of science selective along with a new bag of the garden select. Going to try a little mixture gently over the next week and see how they get on. Very frustrating...

I saw it, but this one contains soy, I know there is no scientific publication relating soy with cancer, but I still would prefer not to give

    Renal cysts and urate crystals

It could be the combination of genetic and overfeeding because renal cysts and urate crystals - especially the latter - are so rare? We haven't come across them so far, hence the absence of a magic wand measure from both your vet and us. But diagnostics are improving all the time so we regularly...
