Good morning, this isn’t urgent, but I could do with some advice please.
Bandit has been getting treatment from our vet since the Friday after Christmas when she was doing red pees. They’ve checked a urine sample and there were no crystals or bacteria (this is a new level to me, I’d previously...
Old George had arthritis in his knees and had 'oxbow jointsupport' for the glucosamine which really helped his mobility. It took about 2 weeks on it to see any difference but after 4 weeks he was a different pig - much more mobile. I wonder if they would be worth a try for your girl?
Hi
I would recommend switching to Feliway cat cystease capsules (UK brand) instead when you review the situation by the end of the week. These are widely available online; they are classed as a food supplement and not as a medication.
If you do, we will tell you how to use them then. What you...
Hugo has actually been eating the oxbowjointsupport cookies as well! They seemed to help a lot in the beginning. Hoping the medicines start helping him soon then. 🤞
UPDATE:
The vet said that her ultrasound and full body scan showed no signs of inflammation or infection anywhere else and that the bladder wall looked good. She said that the blood could be the result of the sludge not being flushed out yet which can take anywhere from a month to 3 months or...
He's still with us. Still declining nuggets but he took a bit of OxbowJointSupport biscuit but no more. I need to get him some grass but it's chucking it down outside.
I got up at 4am and he had a little syringe food and again a couple of pieces of grass he found on the cosy, so i got him a...
I'm sure turmeric is completely fine as it is in the Oxbowjointsupport tablets. My old piggie mango absolutely loved them, i thought they smelled like curry. 😄
Hey, I just wanted to apologize for freaking out yesterday. My piggy was just going through something these past few days, and this forum has been so supportive to me, that I wanted to give the love back when I saw your unanswered thread.
I got triggered when I read that your guinea pigs were...
Hello everyone,
Our poor, gorgeous Oreo turns 5 next month and has significant arthritis which is affecting her back and joints. Her posture is hunched, she has been hobbling along and her limbs aren’t as mobile. We took her to Cat and Rabbit Clinic and found one of her front paws is the worst...
I use the oxbow urinary support ones, and also their jointsupport ones for my old boy. Essentially I use them for their glucosamine content - it is a food supplement useful for supporting both battered bladders and arthritic joints. They are not a preventative for UTI though. Sometimes a...
Hi
With growing experience in more recent years and our own piggies, there is no specific IC diet. What can trigger a flare is any new - especially - fresh food. Especially fresh grass can be tricky if you cannot feed a very little all year round. But there has been no consistency otherwise...
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try! Apart from the arthritis in the knees that the vet saw in the X-ray, I've noticed a decrease in her ankle flexibility over the last month or so. Did you give it to George every day?
...search feature on this forum? I know that is basic but it might help you find what you are looking for. Is this any better than oxbowjointsupport or sherwood Tablets? Might be worth using one of those if you can't find an answer to your question. Sorry for not offering much help but I...
...and also glucosamine supplements (these do not need a prescription) which have really helped his mobility. We personally use 'oxbow jointsupport' which are a purple/white sachet of little biscuits and they eat one a day. You will not see a difference for a few weeks as it takes time for this...
Hey guys!
I have a senior pig (I did not know his age when I got him but he was a rescue and I have had him for six years. I’m guessing he’s around 8.) who is having some issues with his poops clumping up and not coming out. I end up seeing big globs of poop in the cage so it does eventually...
...when that started. When it started getting noticeably worse, my vet added gabapentin, which seems to have helped. I also use OxbowJointSupport biscuits and/or Johnsons 4Joints which some people find makes a difference. One of my Rainbow Bridge piggies that had arthritis had metacam and...
Thank you, looks good. The vet wanted me to try OxbowJointSupport biscuits which I have on order but I've a feeling from past experience he won't eat them.
Potentially! They get the oxbox urinary support tabs but I could swap him to the jointsupport ones to see if that helps at all. He’s only 2 bless him 🥹
I have seen those! I just wasn't sure as I believe it is straight powder on the top that hasn't been mixed with other ingredients to make it less potent!
