I'm not quite sure what you mean, but if this could lead to any predatory animal: neighbouring dogs and cats, foxes, any of the weasel family.... getting into the hutch, then definitely not.
looking at hutches obviously know the bigger the better however would a 5ft double hutch be suitable if i cant get a single 6ft?
is there going to be a difference with heating / cooling down ie it’ll be easier to keep a double hutch cool in summer? just trying to look at all options and pick...
perfect! thank you so much! we don’t have covers on this hutch as it was being kept inside with the rad on, hope this isn’t a problem! maybe i can look at diy options? what sort of thermometer did you use to attach to the cage?
A 5ft double is fine but a 6ft single is better
It is not easier to keep a double hutch cooler in summer. All hutches outside pose a risk of overheating regardless of their structure
If it is above 15 degrees then don’t leave the cover down as it can cause the hutch to overheat.
Unless you are talking gale force winds, then there is no issue with her having a summer breeze.
Sorry to hear you haven’t been able to find a companion as yet
Shall I leave tangos hutch cover down as it’s quite windy here in Aberdeen. Still haven’t found a companion for her but she seems to be coping well on her own
She's been sitting by the ice bottle in the house a lot already unfortunately. I'll get a thermometer for the hutch. It's meant to be over 30 this week. I'm dreading it to be honest
Aubergine was Shy Little Meg's 🌈 favourite veg! She loved it. I would cut a small disc of it and dice it and she would share it between her two hutch mates every veg time. She lived to be nearly 6. So you'll have nothing to worry about.
fantastic! i can probably start to lower the temp they can be in now anyway cant i? they’ve been here for a week now! its sitting at 14/15 today in the day, am i right in thinking not put the heater on?
