Hi
I recommend to mix the contents of 1 feliway capsule with 2 ml of water for better consistency (1 ml is very gloopy) and give 1 ml of it twice day or you give it all in one go once daily. Shake the mix well before every use. A small veterinary medicine bottle is ideal for the job.
What I...
I've not used any of the Oxbowsupport products, although I dont think there is any harm in using the urinarysupport 'cookies'. Diet is your main factor to look at though going forward. Although it won't help the current issues.
If you aren't happy or confident with the knowledge of your...
Yes, those are the capsules; they are a little higher in glucosamine. You can in first days of treatment or a flare up (up to a week) give one capsule content in the mornings and in the evenings (i.e. 2 ml of the water and capsule powder mix twice daily), then you go down to half a caspule (i.e...
My boy also have had a few UTIs but they were very light. Something that helps him a lot with UTI is the oxbowurinarysupport, I give him one cookie daily and it prevents UTIs. Also when he was ill this supplement helped him to recover faster. I highly recommend them to you!
Hope the medication...
That's good news! My boy also had UTI couple of weeks ago and I found oxbow makes urinarysupport supplement. Currently trying to see if it makes any difference. Just easier to give him a nugget rather than syringe cystease. No idea if it works any better.
...blended with lettuce and bell pepper water, 15-20ml every two hours, for the past three days. We've also been feeding her the Oxbowurinarysupport tablets. She's perked up significantly, and she's eating quite a bit of timothy hay as well, but her weight has not increased greatly. It's...
I was wondering if guinea pigs can be on Oxbow Vitamin C and OxbowUrinarySupport supplements at the same time. My guinea pig is on Baytril (for his sneezing),Bene-Bac (for his soft poop), and Oxbow Vitamin C supplement at the moment. I was wondering if I can also add the UrinarySupport as...
Hi,
I've just started trying to get some basic emergency supplies together for my girls, and came across some interesting supplements made by Oxbow. My eldest girl may have some age related issues beginning, so I was thinking I may get some of the Oxbow Natural Science Joint Support and Urinary...
George had been very wet underneath and cried when he peed. Of course I thought it was the bladder stone but he improved a great deal once we started him on an antibiotic called Septrin (over here) which he was on for 10 days. It affected his digestion and he looked pretty rough and ate a lot...
Yes, the vet prescribed both along with the Oxbow Vitamin C biscuits. I cut off all veggie intake as of yesterday, he’s on hay, pellets, and the vitamin c biscuit (one a day). I also just got him on the OxbowUrinarySupport biscuits too (Half).
From what I’ve read on here it seems baytril affects some piggies but not others.
As regards the oxbowurinarysupport. I think that’s for piggies with urinary issues rather than respiratory. Wait till morning when someone can answer. This forum is based in the U.K. so everyone’s 💤
I give my bladder pigs the OxbowUrinarysupport and also cystease. I’ve never heard of the Galen’s Garden syrup to be honest. I would ask your vets to check the label and details for you.
@Piggies&buns @Siikibam ?
She is an older girl but although this might bring a few issues a lot of them can be treatable just like in a younger piggy.
UTI
My vet told me that UTI are pretty common (with or without stones) and especially amongst sows as they scent mark by rubbing themselves...
Enrofloxacin (which is the active ingredient in baytril) is one of the antibiotics that are a bit heavier on the gut hbacteria but it is by far the most prescribed antibiotic for guinea pigs and in many countries the only licensed antibiotic for guinea pigs. The vast majority of cases go fine...
Hi and welcome
An x-ray to check for stones and sludge would be good; also to see whether something is going on in reproductive tract as she is a sow; the two are closely entwined and can impact on each other.
If there is no sign of stones or any problems and you are left dealing with a bad...
We had bloat recently in a 4 year old girl and ours turned out to be overdoing the wrong type of grass. It's spring here and she's used to meadow grass but I had recently re-turfed my little patch and we think that upset her. The other two are hoovering it up but she is being very careful now...
