...the crisis and managing her condition.
My girl had a bout of gritty pee but in the end that was all. Her cage mate George is on oxbowjointsupport crunchy lozenges for his arthritis and I've been giving her half a one of those every day for the glucosamine to support the bladder. So far no...
Thanks! I bought the jointsupport and also some vita C, Digestive support and urinary support for her. I know it's a lot but I think at her age she may very well need it all. I will not give it all in one day though I'll make a schedule so it's one different tablet per day...monday urinary...
...glucosamine food supplement which helps both my arthritic boy and also my gritty pee girl as the same thing supports stiff joints and battered bladders! We actually use oxbowjointsupport biscuits (90mg/bic) and gritty Louise gets half a one for maintenance ☺️
Good luck poor gritty little...
...24 hours. There is 125mg glucosamine in a capsule (and some other stuff to help out). My boy was been having something called OxbowJointSupport (like a little biscuit) for his arthritis which contains 95mg glucosmine each and he was happy on those but his appetite is off now. I tried...
...to flush it all through.
Have you thought about a glucosamine supplement? George was already on 90mg as he had a one a day oxbowjointsupport cookie for arthritis but it is the same stuff that is good for helping battered bladders. It doesn't work overnight but if he's had problems before...
Ive been giving my IC/sludge piggie oxbowjointsupport treats, they have 90mg glucosamine each. I also have the feliway cystease capsules I mix with either water or a small amount of squished strawberry (or peach, or critical care, or anything else to trick her with!). I use those when she...
...the vets today as he is still squeaking when pooping, even though he has been on the top dose of metacam, as well as Cystease and Oxbowjointsupport tablets.
His bladder at the last appointment was very sore and inflamed with a lining 2cm thick!
This time his bladder has not improved and...
...ways you can do this). Glucosamine is considered a food supplement and can just be bought online... George has it in the form of Oxbowjointsupport biccies for his arthritis (because it helps with that too). You have to have it daily for a few weeks before you start to see any difference...
...by a bug resistant to Baytril (again) but sensitive to Septrin (again) which won't have been a coincidence.
Have a look at oxbowjointsupport biscuits which come in a white and purple packet and cost about £20 (amazon or similar) but you get quite a lot in there. They contain 90mg...
My boar is on Glucosamine on advice from my vet as part of his treatment for arthritis.
If you are going to use Glucosamine...you need a vegan one
I use this one
Vegetarian Glucosamine 750 HCl Capsules
...and give 1/6 th capsule per day
Ps ..my boar wouldn't eat the Oxbowjointsupport tablets
...thread (relevance etc) but George has twice daily metacam for his arthritis and recently we've seen great improvements adding Oxbowjointsupport lozenges into his diet. He crunches one a day. It took 2 weeks for me to see any improvement but after 4 weeks he's much more mobile. They are...
I dont have experience with cystease, but our vet OK'd oxbowjointsupport with glucosaime. It took a good 3 months before it seemed to start working, which it is doing quite well now :) So hopefully the cystease will kick in eventually. 💕
I tried the Oxbow biscuits for Peggy but she would not have them at all. She basically took one look at them and went and hid in the hay. Mavis liked them though and I give her the occasional one as a treat. 😂
Hi!
I would recommend that you have the arthritis assessed by a vet so it can be treated better; an analgesic can really help with the pain in the joints and make quite a differenvce in getting them more mobile again.
The vet can also assess how far the arthritis has spread and tailor the...
Thank you 😊 sorry to hear about your lovely girl, sounds like she's getting a lot of TLC from you though.
Cystease will be here tomorrow and yes, will try to avoid GA!
Do you think blending hay, carrots and water would be ok? (If not totally unpalatable!) I do see him eating some hay and his...
...my nature is a bit cynical!
My boy George (on the left) is 5 1/2 and has arthritis. We saw great improvement after giving him oxbowjointsupport 'lozenges' (you might call them 'cookies' they have purple on the packet)...
All I can add is a vote for oxbowjointsupport lozenges ('cookies' as some folks call them) which contain glucosamine and have worked wonders for 5 year old George's arthritis. He was nibbling at his sore joints which resulted in hair stuck in his teeth and hair loss round his knees... but not...
