    Guinea Pig being Bully

I have a pair of boars, Ernie is 7 and Buddy is coming up for 4. They’ve been together for 3 years. Over the last three weeks Buddy has been really bullying Ernie. He’s chasing him around the cage, chasing him off food even though we have two bowls/two veg piles. Ernie just squeaks all the time...

24sq feet - how many piggies?

My new enclosure will be 24sq feet and it will house a neutered boar and three girls. Will this be enough space for 4 piggies?

    Girl Bonding after Bite

I did wonder if the tunnel was the problem as even though open ended it was still a tight space.

    Girl Bonding after Bite

I have a pair of girls Myah and Holly. Last week I tried introducing a new female called Maple. I did the bonding in a large, neutral area with two hay piles and a two way open ended tunnel. I put them in and observed them for 5 hours and they were eating together and Myah and the new girl were...

    How many piggies?

I’m going to be introducing my neutered male to my two girls in 6 weeks time. They’ll be house in a single level 6ft x 2ft hutch with a 5ft x 3ft run permanently attached but they’ll be locked in the hutch at night. Would I be able to add to the herd with this set up or would three be my maximum?

    Possible Pregnancy

just over a week ago one of my boars escaped into the enclosure with my two girls. He wasn’t in there in the morning, I went out for the day then when I went in around late evening I found him in there so I don’t know how long he was with them. The girls are both nearly 2 years old and I...

Do Some Piggies Not Like Fleece?

My girls love their fleece and cosy items. They'd put up a protest if I tried to put them back on bedding lol. Might give the boys a try on bedding again and see if they move around more. They could just be lazy boys lol

Do Some Piggies Not Like Fleece?

Do some piggies not like fleece? When I first got my boys there were on shavings in a hutch. We moved them inside over winter and they were on fleece with a cage base in the run that had aubiose in it and they spent most of their time in there. Now they're in the shed in a 21sq ft enclosure...

    Member Gallery: Hutches

I use guttering for my ramp. I cable tied a strip of a carpet tile that was 99p in b&m onto it and cable tied it to the top.

That's Poppy, my Dutch breed and my baby at 5 months old. She is adorable but a cheeky wee one too and although the submissive piggy she keeps Holly on her toes lol.

    Aubiose Vs Megazorb

It's actually cheaper than the Aubiose but only by about £1 from my local farm supplier. I do like the Aubiose though.

    Aubiose Vs Megazorb

I've been using Aubiose in the piggies hay/bedding areas for about three weeks now after switching from shavings and so far I'm very impressed. I find it very absorbent, doesn't seem to get wet in between cleans and it's very soft. A few people have mentioned Megazorb to me and I've been...

    Free Ranging Piggies

Tried it with the boys today and they sat in their house the whole time lol. The girls were keener to explore the night before. Will keep at it though as it's easier to just put a line of grids across the room, a few fleece blankets etc and away they go.

    Free Ranging Piggies

Hmmm maybe I'll try it tonight and see how they go. Holly would probably do the same as your piggy but Poppy who's the baby is a little bit more confident and adventurous lol.

Maybe I'll get another run and join it to the other two to make a large area but still enclosed.
