Pellets that purely made of hay, that replace pellets that have various vitamins and minerals added. What do you mean by 100% hay based pellets? Are you referring to pellets that you feed alongside hay and veggies or pellets that 'replace' hay?
@Piggies&buns uses them. You could look into the hay box one they are cold pressed Timothy hay!
I believe some people on the forum use them but I cannot remember who!
I'm using the posh waitrose water thats very low in calcium, would a filter take out everything?@Piggies&buns uses them.
It's not strictly pellets that cause sludge. If you feed a Timothy based pellet and feed only 1tbsp per pig, use filtered water and encourage your piggy to drink as much as possible to help flush the bladder. Another thing to consider is genetics.
I use Hay Box online. My Guinea Pigs love them and they are 100% Timothy HayPellets that purely made of hay, that replace pellets that have various vitamins and minerals added.
I have a bladder sludge piggie, I'm trying to get away from anything that might be adding to her problem.
Thanks, just had a look.I use Hay Box online. My Guinea Pigs love them and they are 100% Timothy Hay
Sorry my mistake. They are Timothy hay cookies. Thanks, just had a look.
It does list comfrey as an ingredient, I've always been told that is bad for humans to take, it causes liver damage?
And daisy?
Should that be a worry?

My lot have all been having them since I mentioned it to you a while back, another order came today actually! They’ve gone down really well with these 4 compared to my RB avatar pair who couldn’t have cared less!Check out Galens Garden, my piggies loved their 100% grass pellets, they also do various hay pellets, cobs and flakes too. A lot of piggies take quite a time to adjust to eating them though as they've very boring compared to commercial pellets. A bit like taking a kids burger and giving them museli![]()
I tried to get all my piggies on to these but they have met with indifference from 5 of them and Mavis and Peggy downright refuse to eat them. So everyone gets a mix of these and the Science Selective Grain Free nuggets (only tablespoon per piggy). As they are all on a low calcium diet i have decided that the few nuggets that they get are unlikely to do any harm.My lot have all been having them since I mentioned it to you a while back, another order came today actually! It does take Jasper and Cleo all day to eat the pure grass pellets though, they get all excited for bfast but realise it’s those today and go back to bed![]()
