2 piggies ?

Hi, I'm new here, the name's Alan and I'm 13. I currently am becoming a piggy slave ! [ a huge one at that !]. I house one cavy in a 4x2 cage. His name is George and he is my pride and joy ! I want to get another piggy. I know the cage is an OK size, and just last week I added a run underneath it, which makes it a 2 storey 4x2 cage ! The only thing is ....... George is nearly 2 .......

Can i get another boar without them fighting ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Hiya Alan, welcome to the forum my name is Maria and I run a guinea pig rescue, I'm by no means an expert but my personal advice would be if you were going to introduce a new male friend maybe it should be in a new hutch so its neutral territory, and I personally think a baby would be a better chice rather than an older piggy.
Your other choice is to have George neutered so he can live with a female piggy, as they would be more likely to get along.

Yeah, I get what you mean .... I would have to scrub the cage out to neutralize any smell before hand, and I would pair george up with a young cavy not an older one.

Well it isn't just a case of scrubbing the cage out, you need to do that too, but you also need to put them in a run together, or somewhere in the house where George hasn't been before so they can meet each other. You might need to do this for a week, or maybe only a couple of days if you're lucky! Then put them both together in the cage
