Seems to be settling down a bit now, it's been an hour. So far Treacle has been the most trouble, picking fights with Shelly, Delilah and shoving around the others. Her behaviour has upset her friend Cinnamon who is now screaming every time she goes near her.

Everyone else seems to be settling ok and are now laying down having a nap.

I hate bonding.. why did I think this was a good idea :lol!: I've more pictures on the camera but that's involved going downstairs and leaving them which I'm not comfortable doing yet..although touch wood all is currently quiet.

Thanks! Treacle keeps starting fights, I'm not sure whether to persevere or take her out to be honest. When they're quiet and doing well theyre great..but when they're fighting it looks really nasty. I'm worried about leaving them over night but I'm worried if I take her out for the night she wont go back well in the morning... they do like to worry you dont they!

I caved and have removed Treacle and Cinnamon. Cinnamon spent pretty much the whole time crammed into the corner while Treacle would squish as close to her as possible until she gained the courage to go on a spree of lunging and attacking the others with hackles raised..she looked like a hedgehog! She flipped Shelly onto her back and ripped hair out of both Shelly and Ivory. Her and Delilah have engaged in about 4 full on tumbling around the floor fights and I've had to use the oven gloves about 8 times to diffuse escalation between her and Delilah (which she grabbed hold of and shook like a dog!)

I was questioning if it was the right call all afternoon but decided I could not go to bed knowing she was still in there. The complete change in atmosphere once they were removed was immediate, Shelly has come out from under the hay where she has kept herself as much as allowed by Treacle for the last 6 hours, Misty came out and started running and popcorning, instead of cowering under the hay. So while I'm sad it didn't work out, I belive that was the right call. The only time they were calm was at veg time.. 5 out of 7 isn't bad!

Cinnamon and Treacle are now cuddled up asleep in a separate cage and very calm.

Well at least you tried @Eriathwen! So are you now back to how you were before? Or did you manage a successful bond with Shelly, Delilah, Ivory and Misty? Sorry if I'm late to the party but I can't remember how all your piggies were originally

Yeah it was worth a go! We have a successful bond with Shelly, Ivory, Daisy, Delilah and Misty by the looks of things which used to be 2 separate pairs and solo Misty. Delilah was throwing her weight around for a bit but after being on edge from being Treacles main target I don't blame her! After calming down though everyone lay down together and it's been quiet ever since :) so I'm happy about that.

I think it’s impressive bonding 5 piggies into a herd.
Sorry the other pair didn’t work out but it sounds as if you made the right call.
Beautiful piggies

Thanks! They are all now happy which in turn makes me happy so a good result all round :) I had a feeling this would happen so it's not too much of a problem as we had a plan B anyway!

Well done. I had to take a bonded pair of rabbits out when doing a bond. They were much happier as a pair and the other 4 are a contented group.

I know what you mean about the immediate change of atmosphere, it was the same with my rabbits.

Hope all continues to go well. Only two set ups to look after is pretty good.

Thanks! They're doing great today, really chilled out and sticking close to each other. Although I wish it was only 2 set ups haha theres also Leonards as well as Ebony and Bramble..but 4 is much better than the 6 that ive had over the last few weeks.

I don't know what I'm going to do with Treacle  she's done great since her and Cinnamon were put on their own until last night..where she attacked Cinnamon and chased her around and around the cage. They made so much noise I thought it was the herd! She pulled out a few chunks of hair.
I'm thinking it was due to the carrot cottage and not being able to kick Cinnamon out of it without squeezing past, so I've removed that for now. I'm hoping she doesn't need removing from her too :(
