Hi everyone,

My partner who is currently based in Germany took one of her pigs to the vet today who diagnosed joint problems and prescribed metacam. I had a similar issue with my girl a few years ago and have been using 4joints liquid for my piggies with great success so wanted to recommend this to her in addition to the metacam, but it seems it’s only available in the UK!
I know there’s a few European members on this forum so I thought I’d ask if anyone is aware of an equivalent product available over there that she can check out? Thanks in advance!

@Mrs Tiggy Winkle is based in Germany.

My exotics vet specialist advised I switched from 4joints to ArthriAid, its about 4xs stronger and from what I can see, is readily available in Germany on Amazon, so that one might be worth trying!

I'm sorry I don't know. I've only heard of tons of Good Stuff since I joined here and I haven't had my own piggies since joining.

I'm sorry but the only thing I know of is Rodicare artrin. It workes well for some piggies but the concentration of glucosamin isn't very high. So I don't think that it's a real alternative to 4joints.

Thank you! What is the dose for piggies for ArthriAid?

I’ll check this out too. I’ll get her some 4joints next time I go over there so maybe Rodicare on top of the metacam will help until then. Thanks for your help!

I was advised up to 0.4ml, twice daily, if I remember correctly glucosamine isn't something you can really overdose on so if you need it stronger, that's the amount I was advised. However if you just want to use it as a 4joints substitute then obviously a less will do.

I double checked because it was a while ago I used it and I was wrong, it's 3xs stronger, theres 600mg of glucosamine to 4joints 200mg, apologies!
