We have had our boys just over 5 weeks now!
should i be worried that they are still rather skittish. they will chat every morning when we come down and for food. they come take food from us quite quickly but when we got to pick them up they run.
dont want them to be scared piggies

Hi Loren

Mine are exactly the same, they make a racket when anyone opens the fridge and will take food from me rather cautiously, but if I make any sudden movements they run off. They hate the being picked up bit but don't mind once they're in our lap/in their run.

Its a slow process!

EDIT: I've had mine about 6 weeks too

I have had mine since Jan and they are still skittish, catching them is a chore but they do like cuddles once caught but they are pretty independent and prefer company with each other than me but i don't mind i still cuddle them lol

It certainly sounds like you are making progress. It's all about having patience and like Wiebke said a lot don't like being picked up. One of my girls isn't too into being handled but she'd happy to take things from me :)

I agree, most pigs don't like the picking up process. My boy will let me stroke his head and he will rummage through my hands to take things from me, but trying to pick him up is something else!

Just the way he is I guess :) They will get used to you soon enough!

I am only allowed to pick my boys up if they are in the outside run. Any other time most touching is banned!
