Hi on Thursday i got a 6 week old guinea pig as a friend for my 3 year old boar they are in seperate cages untill i get them bonding during run time he is eating and pooping fine, very noisy i haven't had a baby guinea pig before and just wondering if his behaviour in these videos is normal his name is Bolt (kids named him that because of how fast he can go) also he weighs 356g is this a healthy weight

What a cutie. Your piggy looks so healthy and happy but the cage is far too small. Is that all you have for him?

this is the cage i got given when i got first got my guinea pigs it came with them and they had been in it for 2 years (i know it is very small) i will be putting bolt in my c&c cage once he is bonded with my other guinea pig

That is good. Poor Bolt being kept in such a tiny cage. It looks like a hamster cage.

Is there no way you can divide the c and c and have him life in one half and your other piggy in the other? They could also snif each other and get used to each other maybe?

Your welcome. Make sure you use correx or something as he is little and may be able to escape!

He's perfectly normal whizzing around. I'd get them together a.s.a.p 'though. You can try the gradual approach as a lot of people do but you might also want to just put them together somewhere neutral ( under your watchful eye ) and if they get on then make sure the big cage has been thoroughly cleaned so that there's no scent of the older boar in it and then put a teeny tiny bit of Vicks on both of their bums and noses before putting them in the big cage together and hopefully they'll be fine ( but obviously keep an eye on them for the first few days and if there's any serious teeth chattering you'll need to seperate them ). That's how I got Wally Whiskers and Rocket together, he went on a boardate and seemed to like Rocket so we took them home together and followed Helen's advice about the Vicks and they've been together ever since. :)

Behaviour and weight are perfeclty normal, but that cage is a hamster cage!

I would try to keep hime next to his new friend for a few days, so they can meet through the bars before you bond them on neutral ground. We have tips for introducing guinea pigs in our reference section.

Totally normal

my porridge does this, has a mad half hour running around at speed :)
