July 23rd (ok quite a while off), but thinking about it now to get all ready,

My family and I are going to a 70's Sunday party/concert at Hatton, and I was wanting some 70's ideas of what to wear in order to get in the spirit of it all!?

There will be
- Slade
- Les Mckeown’s legendary Bay City Rollers
- Boney M
- Mud

I know it was all before I was born, but we were brought up with 60's and 70's music, and I quite like it.

Right, we've worked out it was all love, peace and daisy chains! But what about the rest?!

So ideas pleeeeeeeeeaaaaase?!?! ;D

Re: 70's Sunday

YOu can go for the tartan for the Bay City Rollers but they also wore stupid trousers that ended half way up their legs too. Not a good look even then ;D It's red tartan if you do want to go with that

None of those groups were part of the hippy era - they were more glam rock and lord knows what else. Like Bev says you need huge areoplane collars, big kipper ties, platforms and flares. And glitter lots of glitter ;D

Those were the days *sigh*

Polka dots and chunky jewllery was 80's.

If you do the hippy thing, you want the most garish colours you can find - paisley and circles were popular (lord knows why) John Lennon glasses, beads etc. oh and anything with embroidery on it.

Re: 70's Sunday

Have you got a waistcoat? a gypsy top and a long flary skirt. A scarf is good especially round the wasit - actually - pretty much what's in fashion now. Wedge heels on your shoes and you're all set.

Got them all besides the waistcoat! One around the waist!? Where's that?! ;D

Re: 70's Sunday

Actually draped round your hips would be better or, if it's a small scarf, wear it round your head like an Idian (without the feather though).

You'll look fab! I hope we're going to see photos ;D
