Dropped my 2 girls off at the vet this morning so Ginny can have an x-ray. She's got back pain and possibly ovarian cysts. I thought the vet was going to laugh at me when I turned up with a day bag.

A fleece liner, house to hide in, hay, pellets and veg. The vet didn't even bat an eye. I couldn't go through and set it up myself as they were busy with an operation, but she asked how I wanted it setting up and came out to show me a photo of them settled it. Made me feel much happier about leaving them.
Update to come later.

Aw sorry for the stress on you and your little one. Sounds as if you have a very good vet. Hoping to a speedy recovery to Ginny-keep us updated. She certainly seems to have everything she needs to remind her of home and keep her comfy.

Mine always go with a picnic and fleece. My vets don’t bat an eyelid, either. I think it all helps our piggies to feel less stressed. I hope the x Ray went well

Piggies are home :-) x-ray showed some changes on Ginnys spine, probably an old injury from when she escaped when she was little which is only causing problems now.
No ovarian cysts or bladder stones though, so that's good. Her belly was also a bit gassy so she has some randatine for it in case of stomach ulcers. (I take that as well lol).
She's also getting something (potassium sulfate I think, it's on order) to clear any gunk out of her bladder just in case.
The vet has upped the metacam dose, as she was still uncomfortable.
3 lots of meds twice a day and back to vets in 4 weeks with a urine sample!
Ginny was NOT impressed with the ranitidine, she was expecting metacam so took the first bit, then looked disgusted and walked off lol. Guess it's back to picking her up to give meds.

I took the opportunity to deep clean the cage while they were away. Here they are in a sparkly clean home.

Glad it's nothing too serious and can be managed. I know what you mean about syringing meds, they love the metacam and loathe everything else!

Glad no stones! Zantac is an amazing drug for piggies we have had great success with it. Sending ginny and yourself lots of love
