Hi everyone,
I have a disability which prevents me from driving myself. In a pet emergency, I usually have supplies delivered, but I was just told delivery isn't available today!
My poor GPs ran out of hay yesterday morning and I assumed I could just place an order :(
Anyway, they are hayless until tomorrow (so it will be close to 24 hours total) and I'm super worried about it.
Is this going to cause any issues (like impaction) when I feed them?
Should I hold off on certain foods until tomorrow?
Does the hay in the pellets help any? (Oxbow Garden Select Fortified)
Help! Thank you so much!

Maybe pick some grass ? I wouldnt worry too much. Some pigs that are actually neglected go years without hay. Atleast your getting it. Do you know anyone that can go out for you?

In uk we have supermarkets that deliver your food. Maybe if you need some shopping youself then put any hay they sell in your order

Okay, thank you, I feel a little better. :)
I'm in the US but this is my favorite forum for good information.
The supermarket delivery is actually the service I use and they are the ones that told me there aren't any drivers available for the pet store today. Sadly, my friends don't live in my area and my husband is away at a conference! It's just the worst time to run out - Murphy's Law!
Our yard is stone and ivy :( I tried growing grass for them last year, but it failed miserably -_-

Ask next door?

It always happens at a bad time.
Do you have a neighbour who would either drive you to the pet shop or go for you?

I really appreciate all the help, and it's been quick replies, too! :)
I really cannot wander too far from my home alone because of my disability.
I have one neighbor, but I don't know her and she is gone at the moment.
I'm too shy to burden someone anyway, I know, it's silly, but I am haha. :mal:

Dont worry I'm shy too lol

I had someone bragging they kept their piggies alive for 5 years without hay at the start of the week, dont worry, one day wont hurt :) these things happen, thats why my house looks like a barnyard, I can't really go out by myself so ive sort of stockpiled things in case of emergencies!

Bragging? Whats the achievement

I am in US also, and I get hay delivery every month from Petco.com.
I also visit Petco store near me whenever I run out of hay, but you can get it delivered to your house free of charge with sign-up of repeat delivery service.

Petco.com ship things pretty quick so my Finn and Lara are never without hay or pellets for that matter.
