Alfie has only ever lived on his own as he didn't get on with his brother at P@H. I'm now thinking is it worth rescuing a buddy to go with him? I don't want him to be lonely and he is popping less and less nowadays :0
It would be worth giving you local rescue a ring to see if you can set up some boar-dating so he can choose who he lives with - I spend a great deal of time and effort finding perfect match for lonely pigs, to see two lonely piggies go off home together is fab!
No matter the age or temperament there is nearly always the right one out there - sometimes you have to persevere to get the perfect match but for the happiness of your pig it will be worth it.
BTW Do keep an eye on his weight/condition as a change in behaviour could be the first signs of an illness,
Thanks for that, we've had him for a while now around 9 months and he has been on his own since, he lives in the living room with us so we are always talking to him but it's never going to be the same, I'll have a look into the ''dating'' haha
He's still relatively young (assuming he was a youngester when you got him) so you may want to consider having him neutered. This would mean you could also look for a rescue lady for him
I think sophiew at Guinea Pig Re-homing Norflok is not too far from you. She's a forum member and runs a great rescue; she has lots of experience in pairing piggies. Rescue websites are not always up to date with all available piggies as they are so busy, so definitely worth sending an e-mail. http://www.guineapig-rehoming-norfolk.co.uk/
