I have a gorgeous wee boy :smitten: :smitten: and he lives on his own, he's seems quite happy and content and has lots of love, attention and laptime. He's currently 9 weeks old and I have had him for just over a week I am considering getting him a friend however, I am concerned that he will fight with his "new friend" and I will have to seperate them and I really do not have space for two piggies.

What I am trying to ask/say is would it be a good idea to get him a friend and hope it works out or is it not worth the risk?

I really dont like piggies on their own and at 9 weeks old he has a better chance of bonding with another baby Boar.Maybe you could take hime to a rescue and see if he likes any of the boars that they have in.
Where are you located?

Thanks Tyne and Wear
Not trying to push one of my rescues onto you but i have 3 baby Boars in at the moment but I am in Alston only an hours drive away.
You would be more than welcome to bring Tommie over to see if he liked any of them.

I would defo get him a little mate, I have a lone boar at the moment because he fights with my other two I'm hoping to get him another once I've found that there is no way back for him with his two pals.

I've had two females from Sokel and they are lovely pigs, I would seriously consider his offer on going over.

Good luck!

Gosh thanks for your advice, if you guys think it will work I am certainly going to give it very serious thought, just out of interest what do your babies look like?

Godilocks that would be fantastic thanks I do drive but pointing in the right direction would be a big help.

If you PM me I give you my telephone number and I will help you with the directions O0

I wonder if he would pair up with the eight month old boar? what is the bext way to go round it would I bring Tommie in his present cage?

The best way is to bring him up in a Carrier and for them to meet on neutral ground so that neither of them would feel that someone is tresspasing.Sparky may well accept a 9 week old Boar,He has met the 3 young boars and he just rummbled at them but no aggression in the 20 mins they where together.

Ok no problem when would be suitable?
If you let me know what days your free i can probably be around.
Saturday is no good though as i am busy all day.

Any day is fine for me between now and tuesday except saturday.Late morning or early afternoons are best for me though as Its usually a bit mayhem on a morning doing all of the animals ::)

What Time tomorrow? If its mid to late morning i will take the horse out in the afternoon so that will be fine

Did you get my email? I sent it to your BT account

A friend is definately a good idea O0

Two young boars will be an easier bond, but both their personalities may change resulting in a fight...whereas an older boar may be a harder bond, his personality is unlikely to change.

I think you are doing the best thing by letting him have a sniff of all the different aged piggies and see which he likes :smitten:

Keep us updated O0

Sparky is definatley the more dominent Piggy, I am sat here watching them anxiously but so far so good.

Awww they sooooo match eachother! Long lost brothers! ;D :smitten: :smitten:

A tip though - if you cut the apple into little squares, it will make it easier for them to eat, and help prevent any mouth sores O0

Awwww I'm so glad you got him! And you got to meet graham! What is he like? ;D
