Hi everyone,
I am an enthusiastic guinea pig owner, so much so that it inspired me to write a middle grade series of novels, which i am self publishing on Amazon. I am giving all proceeds to the Foal Farm animal sanctuary - this is where we adopted our third guinea pig Max from, after one of our initial pairs died prematurely.
The link to the series is here:

If you enjoy reading 'The Guinea Dad', please leave a kind review and recommend to a friend - it will be more money for charity. The first book should be free to download for the next 24 hours! Suitable for children and adults!

I enjoyed the storyline but as a responsible owner I worry that some of the content could perpetuate the misconception of guinea pigs being an easy to care for starter pet. I was shocked that your two main guinea pigs were a pair of mixed gender siblings kept together, you "designed" a backpack to take the pigs on outings, suggested that too much hay makes them fat, the cage was small enough for a ten year old to carry and the friend was allowed to go and buy a single pig. I appreciate that this is a work of fiction but there are a lot of stupid people who would not research and therefore be unaware of the misinformation. Apologies if I have offended you but as you stated you have adopted yourself therefore are aware that far too many pigs are not properly cared for I did not expect such examples of bad practice for the sake of artistic license.

Thans very much for your comments, glad you enjoyed the story aspect. I am able to make ammendments. While some of the concerns you raise are necessary to facilitate the story, others can be changed. I will go and make some improvements! Not offended at all!
