8...yesterday i had the pleasure of aquirrering a new adition from pets at home he had just had an operation a couple of weeks previously for a hernia an that had heeled well an i got him from the adoption section. he has ( very lovingly) been named Simon which suits him well, by the assistant that found his hernia.
This morning i got him out of his cage an feeling under his neck found a lump round an moveable. at the same time last year Barney had the exact same thing it was so rare that the vet had never seen it before an know I'm rearly worried as the vet was almost certain that he was going to die.8...

I'm rearly worried. hes eating an drinking well hasnt squeeked once of made any noise watso ever i know that barney recovered but its the fact that by some sick twisted coinsidence my lovely 10 week old piggy with a bad start in life had to strart out with this an a hernia. just need a bit of reassurance till can reach a vet am waiting for my family to get up to get there opinion.
Am rearly hoping its nothing but need some reassurance. think it is a lipoma
HELP!!8...

Oh dear, what a start in life the poor thing. Try not to get upset until you have seen a vet, it may be something completely harmless/treatable. The fact he is still eating and drinking is a good sign. Good luck little Simon.

Personally i think its fate, you have got him because you knew what to look out for and how to help him the best, you're meant to be together:))

Good luck, (you won't need it)

Oh poor little Simon. At least you have him now and can give him the care and love he needs.

Poor little Simon! Has his hernia come back?

I am keeping my fingers crossed for him. That is a rotten start to life! But he has a loving home and owner with you, so I am sure that you will do what is in best interest.

Sounds like it might be an abscess, young guineas are prone to them, two of my girls have had them, try not to worry, he'll need it flushing out by the vet, and sedation, but he should be ok XX

My skinny pig has a lump on her neck ,i had it checked and the vet said its a fatty lump as you can feel right round it ,it doesnt bother velvet at all and she eats and drinks fine but i do still worry rolleyes

one of our piggies a while back had a lump turned out to be nothing serious at all, did nt ever give him any problems, hope it is the same for simon x

my piggies also have always tended to have little fatty lumps which i believe are harmless. hope simon will be fine, i think it's great that you've got him from the adoption place, i was just saying today what a shame it is that they hide the adoption bit at the back, and put all the 'new' piggies on show near the front :(

ps - simon is a great name for a piggy :)
