Went to the vets with the piggies today for a check over (its been a while since the last one)

Squeaky wheeked her head off at the indignation fo being fiddled around with rolleyes, Scarey was a good girl but was on edge :......
And Bigbum.... My little girls blouse was a star x)x)... He didnt run off and just lay in the vets arms without her holding onto him, quite happy having a stroke...

I have now given them all a squidge before popping them back into their cage but Bigbum got an extra one and a few kisses on his head...:)) And they are not in a mood with me......much....:))

The vet found some lumps on Squeaky and Bigbum though :(... one big one under BigBums armpit which is difficult to find unless it he is in the right place and one by his back leg which seems to be on a stalk...
Squeaky has one on her side and one under her teet (piggy booby thingy)...
We discussed the options and i am going back in a month and will be checking them every week to see if the lumps change.
I know all about cancer lumps so know the signs to look out for and my vet and me both agree that if anything happens and the lumps change then it will be a case of deciding whether an operation would be beneficial or to let them live out their lives as they are and let them go when their quality of life diminishes...

Nothing has happened yet and i am hoping they dont change but healing thoughts for Bigbum and Squeaky would be much appreciated!:)

Oh, Jane! :0 :0

I will be sending LOADS of vibes and best wishes and every positive thought that I can muster for some of my favourite piggies! :( xxxxx

((((((( VIBES )))))))

one of my boys has got a lump by his two front legs as well. the vet has put him n Baytril for a week and if they haven't gone then she might want to opertate as if they get to big they will be to hard to remove:(

hope the lumps aren't anything too serious. I love their names!

Thanks guys :)...

My vet is aprehensive about operating as piggies can go through the operation fine and then die as you are sewing them up.. Granted it doesnt happen all the time but i understand her concerns...
Squeaky has 2 or 3 i think and Bigbum has 3... I am hoping because the lumps are not hard or fibrous they are just fatty lumps but they dont feel likes cysts so who knows...:(
I now know their personalities down to the tee so any changes i can see straight away...

I am wondering though... Scarey their mum is fine... Could it be that the father had a genetic preposition to lumps etc and that why they have them? Can that happen in pigs?
