My 1 year old sow Charlotte is looking for two new friends and there are some pairs of young sows with neutered males that I have looked at. They are just on the edge of how far I would want to go and the rescue that has them said that it would be ok to introduce them to Charlotte. I am not totally convinced by the guy I talked to on the phone, he didn't seem to think there would be any problems and I had to say that I wanted to bring Charlotte to them rather than pick up two piggies and hope for the best. What can anyone advise me on this as it is all getting confusing :{

when i place new sows into my herd its a case of put them in and see how it goes,however the two you are on about i assume are an established pair.That can cause problems as you are introducing them on your guinea pig's patch,find some neutral area where they could have a bimble about and see how it goes,it might go fine and it might take a day or three.

I wanted to take Charlotte to them and see if there are any problems then if there aren't put them all in the new hutch Charlotte hasn't been in yet. They have only been paired for a month or so and the other sow is still young. I am very nervous when introducing pigs so I hope these people at the rescue are better. The other thing is that Charlotte is very excitable and was too much for my other girls I hope they will get on.
