Sorry 4 making another thread but couldnt edit the previous 1 to add the details and could really use the advice tonight.

Long story short the sebaceous cyst on my piggys rump had been gradually growing & then somehow became open and was trying to heal again. Took her to the vets yest. and the vet squeezed all the gunk out. Said clean & squeeze it 3 times a day until it heals. Ive cleaned it up, flushing it out well but I'm not sure about squeezing. I dont know how much needs to come out :{

it looks 'flat' and its pink/red inside with small bits of the gunk in.

I dont want to hurt her by squeezing it if doesnt need it. It would take a bit of force to get something out of it which is making me doubt what i do

please help :)

It's left quite a little crater, that cyst, I don't blame you for being unsure.

For squeezing, press/squeeze all around the wound, work your way around the edges of it, if nothing comes out then hopefully there is nothing to come out, the vet may have got all of it thus far. Keep up with the cleaning and flushing and just watch out for any signs of swelling and heat (which would suggest infection).

Thanks, i did that last night with the hired help of my mum and on pressing around edges either side it 'disturbed' the contents and exposed more gunk at the sides. So we squeezed that out :)>>> Now thats out, its more hollow and i can get the syringe in the flush it properly. Theres still more to come out but didnt want to push it last night as the squeezing obviously hurt. and she just laid still chattering away whilst i finished cleaning it.

ill post another pic later to see if it looks any different

i had a sow with this and i cleaned it twice a day with hibiscrub and it worked brill, it did get smaller but it will (in her case) never heal up completely, if its in the centre of her back its poss a condition called broken back, it takes a long time to heal but can heal but needs cleaning with hibiscrub or sim x
