Hello,
My local animal shelter has a pretty crap small animals bit - the usual thing they look after the dogs and cats and know about them but the small animals are kinda on the side...
Anyway i've offered my advice to them to sort it out, and I'm trying to do a bit of research on how to sort out their enclosure so that there's grass / dandelions / easigrowing stuff there to pick for them or put them out on on a good day all through the summer (obv next summer now..)
So, the whole area probably needs a whole raking up and replanting. When in the year is it best to do this? Autumn or spring - i'm completley useless at gardening and dont have a clue so any tips appreciated. I'd love to have a dandelion patch for them too ;-)
Obviously there will be rabbits too who dig the ground, is there any way of stopping them do it so that the grass remains throughout the year?
